MIDI volume control on TR61 w/ m-audio 61es

It's gotta be easy, I'm just missing it and need some help. I use combis for split programs on my rig, and it works out fine, except for one thing. Here's an example: Combi A013- Organ sound on 61es, piano on TR. TR volume slider acts as master, controls both keyboards. 61es slider controls that ...

"In combi mode or song/seq mode, that entire combi only has use of the same 1 IFX, 2 MFX, and the MEQ." Thank you x-trade, that's what I was wanting to know! Now I see why i was losing the rotary sound in my organ patches, And the piano programs would go to crap and so on. When you plop a program ...

Ok, I keep working on this problem with out much success, but I've got this idea. Say i have four programs for one song that I want to use. I can't transfer them to a combi without trashing out the effect settings (apparently). So if I relocate them so they are consecutive, by opening up a ...

Thanks for the reply!

When you put a program into a combi, then the complete effects setup doesn't go with it, and/or the effects set up in the combi might replace it or confuse it?

What part of a program doesn't go into a combi

Would like some quick advice if anyone can. I am overwriting programs in combis with others, and the program I put in does not sound like it did in program mode. I don't have any kind of diagram to illustrate the path that all of this takes, does anybody have such a thing? I realize that that the ...

I just purchased an M-audio keystation 61es, using it to control selected programs in combis on my TR61. Just a newbie at this, but here's some of what I've learned so far. Simple to fire up and get started. But probably more program set-up time than using two synths. No 1/4 out for a volume foot ...

WOW!

Thanks SO much! I've read this 3 times, and then bookmarked it!

Sure appreciate the time you took typing that up, that's a perfect explanation of the solution to what I intend to do. If you don't mind, I'll try to continue this thread as I make progress.

Thanks again!

I've now got the M-Audio keystation ES midi'd up to my TR61. I'd like to thank everyone for replying, your comments really did help me along. I'm gearing up for gigging in a new band after being off for maybe 15 years. I'd like to lay out my plan of attack, as to get everyone's feedback. !st- Save ...

Thank you! You answered the question that I just now realized, I didn't know how to ask! I had a foggy concept of midi. So the controller (m-audio keystation) dips into the sound pot (TR) grabs a glob of sound, shapes it up and sends it direct to my amp? I thought it had to pass it back thru the TR ...

Will an m-audio keystation controller work with my TR?

I'm about as dumb as a stump on this midi stuff, I'm thinking that an m-audio keystation controller might midi in with my TR, but as I read about it, it looks like it might only be compatible with computer type stuff. It only shows a midi out, so unless they're s a usb/midi adapter type cable to run ...

TR and an M-audio controller

Would like to run a two tier setup, Thinking I could midi the M-audio 61 controller to my TR and run that way. I've never midi'd before. Would someone like to shed some light on this idea? I'm thinking I'll never get beyond the TR's capabilities, and finances are definitely limited. Thanks ...

The sequencer way to switch programs live seemed way more than this ole man could comprehend.... but I got it!

That was the one big stumbling block complaint I had with my TR61, But NO MORE!

Thanks to all on this thread!

Ok, I jsut finished up this little piece http://www.tkk.fi/Misc/Electronics/circuits/linesum.html It works pretty good! Made two of 'em to handle the stereo aspect. Bought all the parts at Radio Shack. Used 3.5mm stereo sockets (2 in, 1 out) and put it all in a plastic 1x2x3 inch project box ...
