Thanks..! I want to get one but seeing that it has been out since 2006 I would expect to see a new model shortly so I’m holding out. If I were you I would contact Korg about this, because as far as I'm aware there isn't going to be a new version of PadKontrol released in the near future. It could b ...

IMO, I thought the editor was next to useless. I wasn't too keen on the layout of the M50 editor software, it would have been alot better if they kept the same layout as the M50's touch screen. Also, I found that some features were missing from the editor software, compared to the M50's touch screen.

I've also had problems with my Korg M50-61 crashing. A couple of weeks ago I was composing some music in sequencer mode and after playing back the composition I had wrote into the sequencer, I decided I wanted to save it to a SD card. When I pressed the stop button on the sequencer, all of the notes ...

Re: What is the newest system update for the m5o 88key...?

I'm not sure which is the newest update for the m50 88 key. The latest update for the M50 88 key is 1.1.0. You can check for new versions and download them at the Korg website, in the "M50 Software" and "Support" sections on these web pages. http://www.korg.co.uk/products/workstations/m50/ws_m50 ...

I could be wrong, but can't you disable SW1 and SW2 for a program from within a combi, on one of the MIDI tabs? Thanks for the info, I forgot about that setting/feature, since I don't use it much. ;) Due to what you have posted, I have edited the above tutorial. You can see the changes highlighted ...

Re: transposing a program with SW swtches

Hello, is there any way for me to set up a program so I could transpose it an octave higher with one of the SW switches? I know this is possible in program mode, but in combi mode this cannot be done with only one sound, so where can I set this up in a program so I could use it on only one sound ...

I posted a tutorial for you a short while ago, but then I removed the tutorial because I found problems/issues with it. When I figure out how to do the transpose without the problems I encountered, I will then repost the tutorial for you. :)

As requested above, I will share the piano patch EQ edit for people to download. To compare Rishat's version with my EQ edit, just turn off/on the 7 band EQ effect that's in the MFX/TFX page. The combi patch that I edited is '001: Motif Piano-Keyoff sampl'. Apart from the 7 band EQ that I added to ...

Hay folks... This is my 2nd Korg M50 video on YouTube.. I have made this video to demonstrate a piano patch (http://korgfans.ning.com/page/m3m50-1) I have made last month. PadKontrol: Unable to turn Pad LED's off (illumination mode)

I received my Korg PadKontrol through the post today, and I've been reading through the manual. On page 13 of the manual "About the illumination mode", it says that there are four trigger pad LED settings to choose from - Patterns A-C, and Off. I have successfully switched between patterns A-C, by ...

If you use keys that are outside the range of a piano (C-1 or G9 and the keys closest to it), then you're not wasting keys on the keyboard. Thanks for the tip. :D From now on, I will be using this method whenever I want to trigger controller data from the chord trigger switches, without using up ...

Someone in this forum discovered a very useful function in the chord triggers: changing up to 4 programs with transition, no sound cut!! But it had to be played in sequencer mode. Perhaps it´s possible to make it in global mode. I would be interested in learning this. Do you have a link to the ...

Hidden chord trigger switch feature

I don't know if anyone has posted this or not... but, I was messing around with the Global settings a few days ago whilst reading the Parameter Guide manual, and I accidentally found a hidden feature with the chord trigger switches. :) Follow these steps to enable the feature: 1) In Global mode ...

I seriously suggest you check out Sound-On-Sound's Synth Secrets series of articles. It covers a lot an d in great depth, some things you won't be able to do on the M50, but it's all very educational: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/allsynthsecrets.htm (start is at the bottom of the page) Thanks ...

Re: I think one of my combis is broken, and maybe something

Edit: Sorry about the double post. I must have accidentally clicked on the quote button instead of the edit button. In my defense I had just gotten up and was tired, and was eating my breakfast whilst editing the post. ;)
