I think he wants to improve the "sample loading time".
The usb connection is not the problem for the long loading time, as it is the OS.

did you try with a MIDI interface? I had those problems because of the PC mainboard usb interface. You always must use the same port , without sharing it (an usb port is dual-port , remove from the other port everything) , and ALWAYS INSTALL THE DRIVER! I had some problems with my Karma Software ...

1. did you set it on Page Select : 2-DT/... on a midi channel that coresponds with a part ?
2. did you assing a pattern ? you must replace the "OFF" with a pattern..

1. did you select on a track , a drums/percussion program ?
2. go to page select > dt/xy/ctrls > pads 1-4 or 5-8 and check if they are on the right midi channel (if you put on the 7 track the percussion kit and it is on the 7 midi channel you should choose the same midi channel for pads.

do you see any kind of activities on the midi input ? maybe you didn't select the good midi input (as korg-usb midi) and you selected the audio-card midi input (whatever audiocard you have). Try http://www.midiox.com/moxdown.htm to monitor the midi input/output of M3 in the PC , and see if it's a ...
