I think you are wanting to mute one timbre with the SW buttons.

There is no mute setting, unfortunately. You have to assign the SW button to a parameter that will cut the volume. One way is to send the timbre to a compressor and then use the SW to drop the volume.

In Program mode, there is no option to init a program. I'll keep looking elsewhere, however.

Thanks

Need Copy of an Empty Program

I have two M50 keyboards and both have the bonus programs loaded in it, leaving me with no empty/default programs. Can someone post an empty program shell that I can load into one of the program slots so I can create some sounds from scratch? I would rather work this way than have to undo so many ...

It looks like we have a solution, so far. (knock on wood) We sent our defective green keyboard back Korg, along with the defective replacement they sent us. A couple days later, Korg sent a new M50-61 to us. It worked! I left it powered-on over night and it was working. Then, we loaded our presets ...

We have a local Korg repairman that handled the repairs both times. After the second time, he gave up because he had just replaced the system board. My guess is he got a replacement board from Korg and it had bad capacitors on it. Now, Korg has said they will replace the M50 once we send both of the ...

I'm the OP. Our serial number is 14673. It has been repaired, twice, with no success. On Saturday, we tried to use it an a very important gig. After setting up, we powered on the M50-60. It locked up, immediately. We tried again. It took about 20 attempts to get it to work. Then, it worked for about ...

I won't get into a semantic argument about "general issues", but there are too many people having problems with the 61 models, versus the 73 and 88 models, that it is a problem. In fact, it is a HUGE problem for those people who experience the issues. The keyboard wasn't damaged during shipment, it ...

Update on M50-61 Lockups

The last few weeks have been very bad for our M50-61. It becomes more difficult just getting the keyboard to start up, let alone trying to keep it from locking up. We got so frustrated that we contacted Korg and worked out a deal for them to ship a replacement 61 to us. The customer service rep was ...

We have a 61 and 73. The 61 has problems about half the time it is started. The 73 has never had a problem.

The 61 first had the bad caps replaced. Then, the entire system board was replaced. It still has problems.

I would NEVER recommend the 61 to anyone.

Update: We left the M50-61 on for several hours the other day. When we came back home, the thing was locked-up, again.

*sigh*

Sweetwater Rocks

Sweetwater is great. We got our keyboard through them, as well. They have excellent customer service.

We ended up having to send the M50-61 back, a second time, to have the system board replaced. It still tends to lock up, but it can be fixed by changing a preset, then back. We think there is a problem using a non-Korg damper pedal, as well. We also have an M50-73 that hasn't had any problems, yet ...

We have one of each and we haven't noticed any difference between the two keybeds.
