I have always increased high EQ and reduced low EQ when playing piano sounds live. For me it's the only way to make them cut through the mix.

My favourite piano for live is the stock HD-1 Oasys Piano with EQ settings as above. It sounds great and you can hear every note.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0LNSaJcbrs&feature=youtube_gdata_player This isn't too impressive either.. I just checked on the K61 that's in my local store today, and it's the same.. That's a disgrace and the profit motive is probably indicative that Korg have used inferior parts inside the ...

And another thing, someone told me your knob keeps falling off  Not mine. My Kronos like ALL new KRONII coming off the assembly line has a different design. OOOOO - I hope mine will have a KAOS-type pad to replace the vector joystick and a full keyboard length pressure-sensative ribbon ...

both the pics he posted were from the same Kronos. So, 1 bad Kronos with uneven keys out of how many sold? And another thing, someone told me your knob keeps falling off  http://members.aye.net/~ray/kronob.jpg It would explain a lot \:D/ To save money, Korg have sent out a tube of denture ...

BTW can't help noticing you are on the Oasys forum a heckuva lot. Dont tell me that the Kronos keyboard action is getting you down....... Not at all, in fact, the RH3 rocks on the two new Piano-based engines the Kronos has. I'm surprised the OASYS didn't get them. Someone should start a few dozen ...

"Open" is one of the worst defined words in the English language :-) I work in the software field (in the Xbox developer tools group at Microsoft) so spend a lot of my time dealing with exactly such issues. "Open source", "OpenGL", "open developer platform", all use the same word to mean radically ...

"Open source", "OpenGL", "open developer platform", all use the same word to mean radically different things, d! Yeh.....in Korg land it also uses a radical different meaning too "open architecture" which when translated to Japanese means "wee-so-ripped-chewoff"

Don't know ask Kato next time you see him I thought you had all the answers since it was a BIG conspiracy against OASYS owners. If it were easily doable, don't you think they'd have done it for the KRONOS? You know what thought did......he went to a funeral and thought it was a wedding.... http ...

My guess is they intentionally didn't open this up, in order to be able to control reliability of the platform. That is after all their single big selling point compared to a Windows PC. If they opened things up so it could run arbitrary softsynths from other companies, they'd risk ending up with ...

Korg introduced the M3 and soon after updated it's sequencer (at zero cost) to include piano roll. Surely the flagship Korg synth costing many times more than the M3 should have had a sequencer update to at least put in on a par with M3. Then why didn't they put piano roll on the KRONOS if it's so ...

So how long would Korg have needed to go on supporting Oasys for you guys not to feel disappointed? Not trying to dig here, just interested to understand more about what sort of expectations people had. The question asked is an over-simplification what has gone on over several years. Korg ...

So they tried to make a dedicated synth type experience, but also make it open and extensible, for an ill defined "as long as is reasonable" period of time. I don't see how they could possibly win with a plan like that! Upset customers appear pretty much inevitable at some point. From my point of ...

And after the OASYS was released, they released 3 new sound engines: MS-20, PolySix, and MOD-7. Also STR1, not to mention EXs3... Oasys launched with 3 synth engines (PCM, analog modeling, and organ modeling). Ended with 7, having added best-of-breed physical modeling and FM synths, plus two ...
