Just had a listen and did a visual comparison too . The ball park level is broadly the same Visually, and audibly, it is clear that the example you posted has a much gentler onset click and possibly a slightly more pronounced key-up clunk . My initial board was possibly worse than yours, but there's ...

I have two minis and can attest that one exhibits the thump quite significantly. While the other does not produce any key thump. I'd be curious to know which board they replaced for you and if it did indeed help with the issue? there is only one board, besides the midi one - it's broadly speaking ...

Posting here was a monumental failure of optimism over realism.
Lesson learned. Forget it. Delete thread.

MS20 mini owner ?

Please , anyone ? . I really need to bottom out an issue . Simply record two notes and share to help a bro out !! . As per this image (follow exactly, but use 'signal out' instead of headphone jack) . That's all . 3 mins to set up, 2 mins to share . I got mine back from Korg, replaced board ...

wow - this forum is *dead*
.
.
anyway - the board was swapped by Korg and they believe the replacement board reduces the thump by half - awaiting its return, smug in the knowledge that I spotted it was a dodgy example
.
so clearly there is variability in production

verify the cable works at the MT by taking the Gate and Keys out from the 20 direct to the MT - ensure you're sure what is the gate and what is pitch, it'll help you ascertain the polarity is right and that the Hz/v is set right on MT - if not make sure you calibrate teh MT with reference voltages ...

To whet your appetite for the potential variations ... Here are the like for like comparisons made on three individual units following the procedure meticulously The variation in OSC bleed / noise level is down to the impact of the spikes of key-thump influencing the Normalisation in the editor Even ...

The noise and the key thump are part of the charm. Avoid the triangle wave and you don't notice it. If you're VERY lucky The Thump is quite obnoxious on mine and wildly different (so it seems) from another unit - so there is scope for variation Any takers for these tests ; ) http://www.korgforums ...

MS20 mini calibration - comparison TESTER reqd : ) 2of2

Just curious if the wayward voltages either side of the nominal 5V are in any way pertinent to my excessive VCA thump issue, plus i'm also curious about whether the unit I have has been calibrated or could be calibrated better. Put it this way, there's a substantial difference in the bipolar range ...

MS20 mini Thump - TEST Volunteers Reqd :) 1of2

Hey I have an issue with a new MS20 mini and it relates to the *magnitude* of Key Thumps and the variability in the field of certain units, I also have a badly calibrated unit in terms of voltages. The two issues may relate to one another. Now, I know this is a design related artefact, but there is ...

I think this is a bug. When it is set to 'normal' latency it glitches like mad. When it is set to 'low' latency it is okay! For the record, the app was the only app running after a reboot! Anyway, back to programming, but this is one for Korg to fix Plus where the h### is the option to export your ...

iMS-20 v1.51 ~26may2011 audio glitching

I have been happily programming the iMS 20 since day one! However, it has now started glitching when I activate the gate on the keyboard- by that I mean just playing the keys, easiest to hear the glitching when the next stroke is way before the envelope has decayed- or just fast! Anyway all the ...

Looks good, can sound impressive. However, Korg, if you're listening ... Making pretty facsimiles is all very well, but it wants to make even more use of the unique selling points of the device, accelerometer, gestures etc It's pretty good so far I wish there was a way to select an instrument ...
