You are the man!

I had completely forgotten about the USB port, I installed the drivers ages ago. I'll try it out tonight when I get back from work.

In any case I'm still interested in knowing first hand whether MIDI boxes are reliable things.

Cheers!

MIDI boxes

Hi folks, Further to my last post, I'm exploring more MIDI related issues. I wanted to know if anybody has any experience with MIDI boxes/splitters etc. My actual sound card has one MIDI IN input, and I I'd like to play my VSTis with two different keyboards (Tr and KARMA), so I thought this midi ...

Cheers folks, You pretty much nailed my current situation. I am trying to go live with VSTis and am trying to come up with the ideal setup, however as you correctly assumed this is the first time I'm trying it out. I'm quite busy with work these days and to be honest I haven't been able to dedicate ...

Selective MIDI out

Hey folks, I get the feeling I'm missing something quite basic here. I've selected a combi and set all timbres to OFF, chosen channel 3 for every timbre. Global channel is 8. My VSTi on my DAW is set to receive MIDI only from channel 12. However, if i play my Tr keyboard, it still plays my VSTi ...

Cheers for the link, I searched for the european version of the adapter on internet and found it for 15€ a piece, so I bought one for each of my keyboards. What a deal being the original KORG adapter as well. I guess that defeats the purpose of my post! Anyhow in case anyone is interested at some p ...

Korg Tr (or other) power adapter - do you carry a backup?

Hi folks, Following billbakers' advice on a recent thread I have started thinking of all the gear parts I should have a backup for. My first concern is the electricity supply for my korgs and I wanted to ask you if you always recommend korg's own adapters or whether having an adapter of the correct ...

Hey folks, I can confirm the compression trick did the job...playing around with the sensitivity setting was the key, I basically set level to 100 and sensitivity to a low value. The sound changed relatively little i.e. not as drastically as when I used a higher sensitivity and a lower level. I'm ...

That's the way things should always be done, although I do think the tech himself should be equally prepared, especially if he is informed beforehand about the requirements of the band. I usually carry a bag with the basics just in case as well, our guitarrist has a case with anything you can ...

X Trade, the original multisample settings were not that good and I managed to get a decent sound precisely from editing it, and a great part of the trick came from reducing its trim/gain, however with it came the loss in volume, so I am a bit reluctant to do that although it might just be a case of ...

Hi Bill, To be honest I really don't want to use compression on the piano sound because it very much reduces its natural feel, a great deal of the dynamics and sound quality go away when you use compression, and the dynamics especially of my low end keys are unreal to be coming from a sampler ...

Cheers X-Trade,

My EQ trim is on full, I'll wait till I'm at my rehearsal place to max the master EQ, cauz it's really only at proper high volumes where I can tell the quality of the sound - I'm not too hopeful about the master EQ though from previous experience.

Increasing piano volume

Hi folks, Just wanted to know your opinion on the following: I currently have an ace piano sound on my Tr (modified extended set multisamples) - however its volume is very low and in order to normalise the sounds I play live I route the piano as follows: Piano - IFX (EQ) - Individual 1 - External ...
