Yes, the sounds are well balanced accross soundpack 2. I just missed some of the old sounds like electric grands, reed EP, layered piano/pad and put these instead of some organs.
Master volume knob - OK solution after getting used to it. Thanks.

I suspect there's much more under the hood than Korg is letting us see. I believe all of the samples in the sound banks are already in the rom of the SV-1.
