you're probably going to have to replace either the touch pad or the main board (there's only one PCB in the KPs). doing either is an expensive proposition. there's scant info out there on servicing/troubleshooting KPs. i looked high and low for a service manual for the KP3 when i blew mine up a few ...

kopro reset
i believe those are the steps to reset the original Kaossilator, not the Pro. i have looked for this myself and come up empty. the "1.02" you're seeing is the OS version. not quite sure i get the issue you're having (your computers see the Kaossilator as a device but the editor isn't working on ...

yeah, i have not tried the calibration procedure yet. i will do a search on the forum later; i know it's here somewhere. i'm skeptical that it will have any effect as i think it has more to do with what happens between (say) the first cell on the bottom left and the last cell on the top right. i ...

kopro tuning issue
it doesn't matter what the key/range settings are. if i set it to A major (or A anything) the first note is Ab. if I set it to Gm Pentatonic the first note is F#. and so on. it is consistently 1/2 step out of tune. i use my kopro in a number of live situations where i have to play to charts and am ...

kaossilator pro out of tune
my kopro just decided to go 1/2 step out of tune. i can hear it and i checked it with several tuners. happens on all patches regardless of scale/range settings. it's not a subtle 'kaoss' kind of out-of-tune; the base pitch for each scale, which had always been rock-solid, is now consistently a half ...

power adaptor
there are aftermarket AC adaptors out there that are dual voltage, if that helps. i don't have the one below but i have a similar one and it does the trick.

ugh
i had this happen in the Philippines with a 60/120 Ka203 AC adaptor. mistakenly plugged it into 240 (i was told it was on a step-down) and POOF. when i got home a week later the KP3 still smelled like scorched PCB. i thought it might only have been the AC adaptor that fried but could not get a ka203 ...

it looks like it belongs on a TV truck. did they fire all their designers? the big white numbers made me cringe. hopefully the new chassis signals a KP4 in the works.

update issues
I'm sure this has all been sorted out but in the event that it hasn't, my guess is that you don't need the update. Check if you have Loop Mode 2 in the Utility menu or gate/release options on your sample pads. If you do, you have v2. I just went through reinstalling the same version firmware on a ...

clicks
the clicks and pops are not necessarily "due to the user's techniques," at least not in every case. of course there are operational conditions that will create them but there are just too many credible reports of the ko-pro acting like something other than a 400.00 looper. the software on the ko-pro ...

There's a night and day difference on my ko-pro when the bpm sync is enabled/disabled. It's pretty much useless for loops with it on as the pops are so nasty. The OS on the ko-pro is pretty half baked and overall the unit is a bit of a disappointment. I still love it and use it regularly because the ...

disabling sync-to-bpm did it!
it's like night and day. and you're right, it probably won't be missed. also now that i'm not afraid of all the clicks and pops i'm digging the loop recorder like never before.
thanks to all for the helpful suggestions.
cheers,
ian

clicks/pops in KoPro loops
thanks so much for the replies, all... i will try disabling the sync tonight and see if that helps, but that seems like a tradeoff one shouldn't have to make to get clean loops using an internal signal generator.. unless i am missing something unfortunately i have already tried holding the bank ...
