programming start offset on M3 seq. from external seq.

I use a DAW sequencer as my master, but I use the M3 sequencer to compose complex beatz. What I want to do is simply program a particular M3 sequence not to start until bar #36 of my master sequencer. Is there an easy way to do this ? On my MPC 2000XL it's a piece of cake. The M3 manual doesn't talk ...

Small note - you should be able to do this all in one box. Sometimes it needs you to be a little creative. What hardware manufacturers often do is not duplicate functionality unnecessarily. complexity and user interface space are rare in the hardware world. So instead of specifically having a ...

you can use gjvti's advice above + go into global mode and edit the drum kit to group whatever instruments you need to be solo'd its possible, just not plum easy thanks Miggz McFly, so if I go into global mode and edit the specific drum kit (used by the drum track feature in one of my sequences ...

no way on the m3. Sorry, I needed it and it can't be done. You need to manually split the track into separate tracks, one for each instrument. Then you'll have track 1 playing snare on midi ch 1, track playing hi-hat 2 on midi channel 2, etc. thanks Ozy !! so, does what you wrote above apply to the ...

jesus guys, that sounds like a HUGE pain in the but !!! i am a professional music producer, and so it is paramount that i am able to do this. the m3 has great sounds and nice effects, but it in NO WAY compares to what i can do processing the drum sounds individually on my console w/ outboard FX ...

How do you seperate the sounds in a drum pattern ?

What I want to do is record each of the sounds in a drum pattern to my DAW seperately. For example: kick, snare, hi hat, etc. so I can do my mixing on an analog console. Do you have to run them each to seperate outs, or is there a way to turn all but one of the sounds off and record them each in ...

George, Thank you! Your explanation really helped alot. So if i have the Res. feature set to 1/4 notes then it will quantize AS I am playing the track ? I've been leaving it set to Hi, so I guess my timing must be really good cause things sound pretty dead on. I'm just so used to drum machine style ...

Another option for "humanizing" is to play it live, first, with no quantize resolution. Perhaps your timing is not so good. In this case, use the Quantize function, but with a percentage amount. For example, if you set the percentage to 50%, events will be drawn half-way to the quantize point. The ...

Thanks Stephen, Your support was QUICK and much appreciated !! I got everything back just fine. Just like you said, go to the global menu and select specifically just INT bank A. Actually, I was wrong and it just had erased bank A and not bank B. All programs are exactly as they were. And thanks for ...

alland, Thanks! I'm really just looking to quantize ala "drum machine" style where you play the part and then once it plays back it is quantized to whatever setting you set it. I guess this would be using the res. feature, correct ? Or I guess I could use the Quantize Menu feature and select the ...

quantize/resolution question in M3 sequencer ???

Does the res. setting quantize the selected midi track POST performance or PRE ? In other words, do you have to have the resolution setting correct before you record the track ? Or does it do it afterwards while the track is playing ? Also, when switching between midi tracks in a sequence I notice ...

recording tempo changes in a seq. ???

Is this done on the master track somehow ?

When I select the master track as the midi channel and try to engage record mode it wont let me do it.

So how do you do it ? The manual does not tell you how.

Thanks man! Yeah, I figured it would be RPPR but wanted to ask to know for sure. It seems you can assign different patterns to different keys and this way have several available to choose from whilst recording, kind of like loops on a sampler. I thought I'd be able to record the RPPR performance ...
