sorry for the double post - one more thing. I keep reading about the m3 expanded. is that the radias board, or something different?

so if i get the m3 with the radias board, what exactly does that give me? Does the radias board just give more sounds? or are there more features as well that the normal m3 doesn't have?

thanks for the quick response, though this just makes my decision more difficult. i basically wanted a radias with a workstation. only have enough money for one though. is there any other recommendations for what im looking for within the $1500 price range?
Thanks

noob question

sorry for asking something so basic, but im debating on getting either the m3 or the radias. i like that the radias has all the knobs and buttons to manipulate the sounds. does the m3 have the ability to change all the sounds and create new ones as well? is it easy to do like it is on the radias ...

Sorry for the double post, one last thing. Not sure if it's important but I'm not really into dance music or techno. I like creating weird music/sounds with awkward time signatures with lots of dissonance. Nothing fast, just slower paced music that gives more of that uncomfortable feeling.

Is the Radias what I'm looking for?

Hello everyone, I'm new to synths, and actually electronic music as a whole. I'd like to get started though as I've been playing guitar and piano for years and would like to try something different. I want to get a sampler (I'm thinking the ESX-1) and a synthesizer, but not sure what to get. I've ...

ok thanks. if i was going to get a synth to go with my esx, would you recommend the emx? i was also reading about the radias and that looked like a better version of the emx. I have about $500 for the synth. i want something with lots of knobs so i don't have to scroll through menus on a screen ...

so there is no way to do a song in any time signature other than 3/4 or 4/4? is that typical of most grooveboxes?

I hate to ask this on an electribe board, but I'm wondering if there are any other recommendations for samplers? I want one that has a lot of options but is relatively simple to use. I've looked at the Roland SP series and those look ok, but I like the fact that the electribe has all the knobs on ...

thank you very much for the response. one more thing, everyone seems to make some sort of techno music with the esx, is that just out of personal taste or because that is what the electribes are used for? im not big on techno and dance music, but i like electronic music. more ambient type stuff. ive ...
