Thank you for your reply! I did as you said and started a new song and carefully worked out the steps and sorted it out. I did turn out to be assorted issues with MIDI assignments.

I've set up a COMBI with multiple splits and patches and recorded a song with it. I now want to play over the song with a brand new sound on the whole keyboard without triggering or interfering with any of the previously recorded parts.

Anyone know how to do this? Thanks!

Hey Warren. Deadish - I guess no-one spotted your questions. I still come in here once in a while if I'm stuck. I'm sure you've discovered by now that the manuals for all these instruments are on-line. I have both for my TR.

Did you get it working?

You have to be in Program or Sequencer mode. Connect a MIDI line in from your comp and push play. Multi-timberal sequencing and effects and whatnot are more complicated, but that's it really.

Thanks for the input fellas. So here's what I'm doing: initializing the device with Korg banks and running in Seq mode. Then I'm setting the bank and patch on the channel and not in the MIDI stream. This seems to keep the patches straight while stopping and starting (not too sure about pan, volume ...

14 views and no reply yet... come on people! here's more description: I load a GM MIDI into Cakewalk on my PC, I init GM on the TR in SEQ mode, the MIDI plays fine with Master effects levels and all patch and control changes now, if i change the TR to program, it won't play at all if I change the TR ...

ok, I'm getting pissed off.

can I only do multi-timberal MIDI files in SEQ mode?
why is it that when I stop and start a MIDI file, all the patches go back
to 001 piano and all the levels and settings are gone?
it's infuritating!

any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks, but I have all the documentation and it stinks!

I can't for the life of me figure out what the hexidecimal code is to send a GM reset to the TR over MIDI. The details are on page 240 of the Parameter Guide, but I can't make heads or tails of it...
