Yes - I do it from my iPad via BandHelper. It's easy. Just put your Kronos in setlist mode and send the program changes via the MIDI IN

First SetList: MSB 0 LSB 0 Prog 000-127
Second SetList: MSB 1 LSB 0 Prog 000-127

7 years old for the Kronos is largely enough. Stop ! Please Korg the follow up ! :D and yet if a new one does get released, there will be plenty on here bitching that Korg has abandoned them, like somehow their existing Kronos stopped working or something. The exact thing happened when the Kronos X ...

I believe you'll need to use one of the sampled organ patches. A real tonewheel organ has no such capability, so thus the CX3 engine won't.

I use the "Saturday In The Park" preset program from the Kronos2. I'll take that and run it through a basic chorus (at about 20%). It cuts through great for cover band gigs, both for heavier piano rock (think Journey, Toto, or REO Speedwagon), along with more sensitive things (like Sara Bereilles).

it's been a number of years, but I bought some OB-X soundfonts a bit back and ended up using the raw samples to build new programs inside the Kronos. They actually sounded pretty good, a lot more "Oberheimy" than I could get with using either AL-1 or the built-in HD1 samples. I also had some really ...

Yamaha did something like this the last 9 or so months the Motif XF was their top-end board. Maybe this means something new is on the horizon?

send midi clock over USB?

So I normally use the DIN ports on the Kronos in my rig and everything works great. However, I built a small rig for a one-off gig and need to connect my Sub37 via USB midi (DIN ports are being used by another device). Note data works great, but I need to send midi clock via USB to the Moog and it ...

I do this on a Sub37 and used to on a Sub Phatty. What receive channel do you have the LP set to? I personally use 14 to keep it separate from the Kronos.

I only increment up the MSB value and use the program number. For example, Bank 11, preset 04 is MSB 001, LSB 000, and Program 035.

advice for gliding string

so I have to learn Etta James' "At Last" for a fill-in gig. I'm really only playing the string parts. I'm trying to get as close as I can to the main melody you here in the beginning. The problem is there is a bit of glide/portamento in the main voice I can't seem to get right. I've been working ...

another option is MidiWrench on the iPad. You can plug it into the USB port (using the camera connection kit). My Kronos is rarely plugged directly into a computer so I usually go this route.

I know others here use the Kronos for it, but my advice? Based upon my own experience, use something like an iPad or other device for sending backing tracks. It's just simpler in the long run. I use Setlist Maker on my iPad to send program changes to the Kronos, send click to the drummer, and send ...

quick answer is no. I have a Fusion as well, and the ability to just endlessly load programs and banks doesn't exist in the Kronos. It has a limit. A limit of 127 programs per bank and the limit of the iA-G, uA-G, and uAA-GG There is a way around it though. If you have the actual multi-samples ...

BTW, thanks jeebustrain for that Organimation tip. That may be just the ticket! I've spent a lot of time tweaking the CX3 but have never duplicated the tone I'd been getting from the Hammond. I've been hovering over the Buy button for a new Hammond or Crumar Mojo, but money's tight and I like ...

I know they're not free, but check out the K-Sounds Organimation. I'm usually one to try and program myself, but these are really top shelf. I've been using a GSI Burn as my rotary in my live rig and I would totally drop it for these. The only caveat is that they use a LOT of IFX slots to get their ...

ok - I got mine sorted. This is what I did - 1. Re-downloaded the files using wget on my linux pc 2. unpacked using 7zip 3. Loaded each of the folders containing the files to the root of a freshly formatted (by the Kronos) FAT32 thumb drive. 4. Launched the installer FROM THE THUMB DRIVE Both ...
