I believe the Yamaha actually is a C3 not a C7 which makes it quite unique and useful as most libraries only have samples of the larger models.

Choosing velocity curve is totally dependent on your playing style. Choose one who responds to your playing the way you want it to, ie the one who gives you the dynamic you hear in your head. Also you should be able to reach all velocities, not only the lowest (darkest) or highest (brightest). A ...

I use my Kronos right now on a long christmas tour accompanying a female singer. I mostly use the German grand, layered with some different pads/strings that I control with the expression pedal. I also use the EP1 MKV and the Purgatory Creek MKV on a few songs. Works wonderfully, the amazing ...

Update: Tried the FC7 and it worked perfectly! I have no idea what I did wrong the last time, and I would never have bought the expensive Korg pedal if my Yamaha one worked but I'm happy now :) Never got XVP-10 to work perfectly but I will try to replace the cable and see if I can get a more even ...

Finally installed this and it sounds great, love it! It replaced some of my EP1-sounds instantly, to me it feels more like a real MKV than the one in the EP engine. Only thing I don't like about it is that the softer velicities in the upper register is pretty loud, I have problem playing pianissimo ...

Thanks for all the replies! If nothing else this thread will get me to try the FC7 again...no idea why it didn't work the last time.

I checked the other thread now as well, I'll report back when I have tried the different pedal and cables!

Unfortunately the FC7 doesn't work with Kronos, apparently didn't work with Oasys either?

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately my FC7 doesn't speak with the Kronos for some reason and neither does my Roland pedal so I honestly don't know how to solve this. Wish I could replace the potentiometer myself, but I suck at fixing things...

XVP-10 and Kronos - uneven response from pedal

Are any of you guys using Korg XVP-10 with Kronos? After using it to control layered strings (among other things) for a couple of months I still can't get the dynamics right, and I'm wondering if some setting in the Kronos is wrong or the pedal defect. I get a very fast response in the lowest range ...

Unless you are allowed to to so, it would be illegal, yes. But fortunately, according to the license agreement, this kind of use (recordings of music involving those samples) is permitted by a statement of the copyright owner - at least for non-commercial use. Obviously it's allowed to record and ...
