If you need just something that can record and play Sysex, have a look at Reaper. It is cheap but feature rich. It does not look fancy, however it is quite swift as well and has all the features from bigger DAWs. It does not have any instruments or samples bundled. Just a suggestion where to look. :)

Description of SEQ Dump

Hello,
I am interested in dumping songs from SEQ mode and read their MIDI data. Do you know if the SEQ dump format is described somewhere? I have tried M50 Parameter Guide, but there is no such detail.

Thank you for any tips!

Hi, you can do this using laptop (did not find any other way, see below). AFAIK drum track number is set by SysEx message. I have tried to do this using: - RPPR, but they do not support SysEx messages - using Ableton with clips with recorded SysEx messages, however Ableton did not support SysEx ...

Thank you for the answers, Bald Eagle. Exactly what I wanted to know! :) In SPDIF connection, does M3 allow to be synchronized to external word clock? And does it allow to be used as master clock? For others reading this thread, did anyone succeed using FireWire connection to Mac over Firewire ...

Questions - Considering M3 purchase

Hello all, after having M50 for some time I am looking for upgrade and M3 seems like best option in terms of functionality and money. What I would like from this upgrade: 1) better sound - it seems to me in demos that especially pads seem more lively on M3 than on m50 2) digital output - to have ...

Sadly M50 does not have sampling capability. Its bigger brother M3 does have it. Or you can look at older versions Trinity or Triton, they should have sampling capabilities as well.

Hi Docsa, on M50 there are 5 insert effect slots, 2 master effect slots and 1 total effect slot. Both programs and combis use this number of effects - this means that if more programs are used in combo mode, they will not use same insert effects and therefore never sound as in program mode. You can ...

Hello, you want to have one instrument on each MIDI channel, is that correct? For this you have to use Sequencer mode and set each track to another instrument and to individual MIDI channel. Additionally, you have to set track node to EXT or BTH in order to react on notes coming from MIDI In. You ...

If you are considering Karma, you could have look at other software arpeggiators (although I am not sure how advanced they are - it is thing I would to look at in near future). I haven't used Karma with my M50 as it did not had a demo (and the screenshots on poster that came with M50 seemed too old ...

Hello Jugo, do you mean that you are getting MIDI output from all channels in Combi mode? Could you please tell me how to do that? I had always just received messages from keyboard, not from combi. If I understand your question, clicking on Mute on channel on M50 does not stop it from sending MIDI ...

Hello Syn9001, I would sughest you to avoid M50 Editor at all (in every use case). It is not necessary and I had just trouble with it, it was not making things easy (it might be just my experience - maybe I did not get the concept). For Synthesia VST will not be used for input, just plain MIDI ...

Hello, I have few ideas for utilities/scripts that would help with Korg synthesizers. I own Korg M50, it might be compatible with M3 as well. I haven't checked Kronos documentation but maybe it could work with it, too. There are several ideas/utilities I am considering: 1 ==== Use case One wants to ...

Hello, M50's Drum track and Arpeggiator switches are toggled via SysEx messages. My advice would be to use Trinity's sequencer to send SysexData to M50 during performance. However the downside of that is that you cannot trigger it with CC (and I think one cannot send Sysex directly from any knob or ...
