According to the press release it has discrete circuitry on the drums (if its actually true I'm not sure why they would have gone through that effort, I'm pretty sure it doesn't make that much difference? [anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong]). You're completely right. That's surprising ...

I'm keen to open one of these up and see if they've marked the bend points on the PCB like they did with the Monotron. If they have it'll be a quick conversion to MIDI, and also doing things like adding buttons/keys to replace the annoying ribbon and splitting the drum and synth output would be ...

i add: does VCF adn VCA affect also drum parts or only monotron voice? In the youtube demoes I've seen, it appears the drum voices are separate from the filter and vca.
