An interesting point was made in the last part of a post on the Moog Music Forums by user CTRLSHFT (not me btw) re the Arturia Minibrute (bold emphasis edited in by me) ... Let's see what this thing can really do once it hits the streets. I have a really good feeling about it and it's capable sonic ...

First synth

If you dont count the silly casio thing I had (a toy what was it? Ah, just found it on a web search - VL-tone) the first REAL synth I bought new was the Korg MS-20 (lent to a 'friend' in a band in the 90's, never to be seen again) followed by a Korg Mono/Poly (new) - loaned to my brother who then ...

Thanks Lloyd! Your way of working with both bits of kit sounds very cool, a great use of both the machines strengths! I appreciate you posting a reply...can't wait to try some of these ideas banging around in my head myself! Re: The Monotribe has to be the oddest synth I have played to date ...

Re: If you are considering a Monotribe..

That & the Microsampler use the same model of PSU.. And workflow-wise they play very nicely together! :D Hi Lloyd, that's good to know! I have both but haven't had much of a chance to use either since I've had the monotribe (why does work/life seem to get really busy just when you get new equipment ...

Only problem is... It is not an electribe, it's analogue and a different beast again, despite the 'tribe' in it's name.

hello, yes, it is a nanoPAD. sorry to mix it up. the interresting part would be to connect them without computer, but I don't understand how to connect a usb controller (nanoPAD) with the microSampler. The microSampler has USB connectivity for data/bank transfer, I would think (hope) MIDI data is ...

Re: microsampler and kaossPAD

Hello, I saw a youtube video, where somebody controls the effects from the microsampler with a kaossPAD. Do you know how to set this up? First of all, how do you connect the 2 devices together? Here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N35gk66rkAA That's a slick video, thanks for the link ...

I eventually picked up one near mint for AU $265 from a local fellow. Despite the limitations mentioned here & elsewhere, it's pretty easy to use and play with and with a bit of creative imagination I'm hoping it'll be a nice sonic addition to my embryonic set-up! :)

I see. I bet a lot of us whose 1st introduction to the electribe world is via the iElectribe (of either type) are tempted to try the "real" things though!

My local music store finally got these in this month. Tried one for a bit and started to seriously consider buying one. My question is - is the Microsampler on it's way out and if so, does that mean there will be a new and improved version of it available soon? This is my question too. After years ...
