Similar Problem

I also get the system error message. I've tried restarting the system. And the USB drive is properly formatted. I've never had this problem before when updating. I've done my best to follow the directions precisely. What's somewhat confusing is when I unzip the Kronos update tar file I get the mnt ...

Resolution of Repeated System Failures

About a month ago I sent a note out on this forum describing my experience with repeated system failures. Several people responded that the problem could be caused by (1) poorly seated RAM (2) corrupted hard drive necessitating a reinstall. As I am not one to open these instruments and not a fix-it ...

Another View

I've got a Korg Kronos 61. I bought it last June. I think it's a terrific keyboard, probably the best I've ever owned. I like everything about it except the annoying fan (not insignificant). Almost to the day when the warranty expired, the system started to repeatedly fail. Amazingly, even though it ...

Thanks for your responses. I'll get in touch with Korg and Sweetwater and see what they say. As I said, I'm sure this will be taken care of and I'm fortunate to have good back-up keyboards, good software synths (and a few guitars!). It's amazing to me how the Kronos has completely taken over my ...

Thanks

Thanks for the helpful response. I'll try calling Korg again. I'll also try a reinstallation. I'm not sure how to do that but I know there are instructions for doing so. I'm not inclined to open the system up to see whether the RAM is sitting correctly. I'm not at all technically inclined and I'd ...

System Crashes: No Response from Korg Customer Service

I have had my Korg Kronos for just over a year. I think it's a terrific keyboard, easily the best I've ever owned (with the exception of the noisy fan). About a month ago, almost to the day when the one year warranty expired, I experienced two system freezes. On immediate reboot, the Kronos will not ...

Fan Drone

I have the exact same experience. The fan is annoying. The instrument is outstanding. However, I can't hear the fan when I play with headphones, nor do I hear it when I play with speakers, unless it's a quiet piano passage.

I must say that I am beginning to get used to it.....most of the time....

Same

I agree. I don't hear the fan when I play the Kronos, even at low volume. That's the bottom line. However, the fan is audible in a quiet room and it is slightly annoying when I do other things in the room. The result is I have chosen to turn the Kronos off when I'm not using it and I'm in the room ...

Thanks for the Tip

Thanks, Grib, for your description of how you are using the Kronos. i didn't realize that there's a tutorial for the MOD 7 in the Parameter Guide. I'll definitely check that out!

First Impressions

I didn't mean for this thread to be further focus on the fan and build quality, although it's good to hear others weigh in. To me, the fan remains a minor issue. i only hear it when the room is totally quiet. I'm much more interested in how folks are using the instrument, their impressions of the ...

First Impressions

Although I've had the Kronos for two weeks now, because of a busy travel and work schedule I haven't had a chance to dig in until the last few days. Before I describe my impressions I'll provide some context so you know where I'm coming from. I'm an avid 61 year old amateur. When I turned 50, I was ...

I can hear fan noise as well. It's audible (a low whirring hum) when I'm not playing the instrument. You can't hear it at all when you're playing. When The Sound on Sound reviewer mentioned it I assumed it was normal. It would be nice to know where this is comparatively. Do some folks have ...
