Thanks for input. I decided on an XV 5050 and am doing this as an experiment. The goal here is to lessen the load on the Kronos during live sequenced performances. There are more than a few songs that I've had to make compromises on effects and sometimes polyphony resources. The XV 5050 is a ...

Best Roland Sound Module To Compliment Kronos

I've been using the Kronos exclusively since 2011. I do a duo with a vocalist/percussionist so everything is sequenced. Recently I had the opportunity to play a JV 2080 and really liked some of the sounds; very different flavor that the Kronos. Besides using A VSR 880 recorder for 25 years I have no ...

Thanks for help.

If I understand correctly, programs in sequencer mode would not be affected because they have their own output routing, right?

SET LIST

In order to change the outputs of a single program in Set List mode, do I change the outputs of the program in Set Mode and does this affect the program outputs in program or sequencer mode?

Thumb Drive Speed

I am trying to put specific sequences in alphabetical order on a thumb drive for quick access during gigs. Does anyone have any suggestions about what thumb drive would be fastest to download from and manipulate in DISK mode?

48 note keyboard or keybed to compliment Kronos 2-88

I have been using the Kronos since it came out; an original K61 in 2011 and a K2-88 in 2015. I seem to be playing more organ and synths lately and wanted to add a full-size 48 note synth action keyboard/keybed so I don't have to play them on a weighted keybed. My first thought was Prologue 8, which ...

Kronos replacement has been discussed many times on this forum. While no one but Korg knows what that is, the Kronos is still the best hardware workstation by far. I you need a keyboard right now, compare whats out there and get the one you like the best. I am waiting for Kronos replacement because ...

When gigging, I use various versions the German Grand about 80% of the time and the Japanese Grand about 20% of the time. I have made edits to the parameters and the FX to compliment my playing style and the song I am playing. I only use the Berlin Grand when I am playing piano only. I can't seem to ...

I am sure Korg follows this forum and knows that there are a lot of Kronos and potential Kronos replacement owners waiting for a Kronos replacement. It may be that the red SE's (especially if built in limited numbers) purpose is to prolong the Kronos' life and delay the need of a replacement. Gives ...

That may all be true, but Korg and the new president can't be oblivious to the success of Kronos and the potential success of a replacement. They make a lot more profit selling a flagship workstation than they do a Volca. Not to mention the brand prestige.

No Kronos successor - the good news

For me Korg has simply delayed a $3000 - $4000 expenditure and the significant time associated with transition from one keyboard to another (about 200 sequences) for another a year or two. Can't say that I'm not happy about that! And if there is another free OS update, as part of this latest SE, it ...
