For tighter sync prolly best to use audio pulse, I guess it depends on how good the midi clock from your computer is, ableton is notorious for having a bit of a sloppy clock (to put it mildly)

Based on the results of the poll 24 people voted without hearing the Volca Bass properly  NO contest, Monotribe all day. Volca Bass is great, but nowhere near the low end of the Monotribe, and ironically not as acidic either, slides are great though, hope the Monotribe gets an update to have ...

The monotribe sounds better than the bass to me, but they will probably drop in price, dumb because they will add to the volcas not compete with them.

No such problems here, build quality seems fine, to rip a switch or jack off would take some force on mine. I have all 3 monotrons and 2 monotribes, they seem solid enough - to me.

The microsampler that I have has wobbly knobs, but so far still working ok.

Based on the sounds I have heard from the Bass I think I prefer the sound of the Monotribe so far, of course this might change when I get the Bass but all the demos of it sound weedy in comparison to even Monotribe videos, maybe it is the filter or maybe it is the compression on the videos, sounds a ...

You need to use an optoisolator really, the resistor version is not really the proper way. Re the ground connection on the midi out, look at any schematic for midi pinout and you will see a ground connection on the middle pin, it is interesting to note that the 'amazing machines' miditribe does NOT ...

Looks nice, but no support for drums?

I notice you endorse the miditribe, but will it work with other interfaces as the miditribe is the most expensive one.

Can you back up patterns into the editor then load them back into the monotribe?

I wonder if the monotribe can sync to the MS if you panned a click sound and sent it to the sync input of the tribe? Anyone tried that? You would have to pan all the other sounds in the MS opposite to the click but it could be fun. Hmm I wonder if the click sound from the monotribe could be sampled ...

You could make some loops on the synth and sample them into the MS too, this can be fun but can get a little repetitive if you use short loops. Another option is just to load in some looped single cycle samples, and set them up with the filter as the fx (on for all) this would give you a very basic ...

Who won on the monomania contest?

Anyone here? The USA and Europe winners were announced yesterday but I can't see who won on the Korg page for some reason?

For the money its pretty good

I paid about £240 new, was not expecting a MPC/ESX killer although in some respects it is. I kind of looked at it more as an updated Casio SK1 and so far not too many problems with it. Its fun to use, ok the dials are a little sensitive, and sure some things could be improved - I don't think I would ...
