Will do...thanks for the input. I know the JV is receiving volume info since I adjust it on the fly...just weird that the Kronos doesn't send out the volume setting when you call up the combi.

Apex....I got it taken care of by telling the JV not to receive on the Kronos' global channel 1. Then, within a combi, I select the program change on a different one. One more quick question...when I save the combi, everytime I come back to it, the volume to the rack mount is not where I left it ...

Man....the post got hijacked! :) Hey Alan...can't really help at this point. So far, I'm just trying to keep the one Performance running on the JV and select different programs from within it. I'll run down a step by step on how I was able to do it within the combi after a while...I'll be busy for a ...

Ok, thanks. Maybe I'll just tell the JV not to receive channel 1 since I'm pretty sure that's what the Kronos is sending out. Then I'll just get specific in my combis as to what other channel to transmit to the Roland. Thanks for taking the time to answer.

Thanks apex, I see you have a JV5080 so are familiar with Roland. My 1080 is set to Performance and I've never had problems with other controllers always sending out on a global channel but I'll look into the Roland. Do you know if there's a way to stop the Kronos from sending out midi unless you ...

Controlling an external rack mount synth

I have a question I hope someone can help me with. I'm new to Korg and don't quite understand their midi system. I have a Roland JV1080 I'd like to control with the Kronos. By default, the Kronos is always sending out midi note on/offs...not sure which channel...global I guess. Is there a way to ...

Thanks again, everyone. I'm sure I'll be back with more questions since I'm a recent convert to Korg. I've come to the dark side from years of Roland use!!

Thanks...I'll dig into that Parameter Guide and adjust the MIDI channels to be the same. I'll report back with my success!

Combis 101

I am lacking a basic understanding of Init Combis. And Combis in general, I guess. I'm new to Korg and own a Kronos 73. When I select an Init Combi to make my own, I notice that all timbres are preselected to the German Grand, all are set on play and all are volume up. Only the first timbre sounds ...

"An additional point: make sure to set the Control Surface mode to RT Knobs/KARMA, so that Knob 7 controls the phaser as programmed." That was it. Thanks so much. I appreciate everyone's input and plan on tapping into you guys' experience in the future. Like I said, I'm an old Roland guy but got ...

Actually, I spoke too soon. I tried the "Copy from Program" trick and checked all but the drum track. Still, I get no phase effect like on the Program. The Program is F.McComb Mark I EP Kn7 and I still get no phase effect once it's in my new Combi. Thanks again.

Effects from Programs to Combis

New to Korg in general and just got my Kronos 73 a couple of weeks ago. Is there a way to keep the effects control from a Program when you select it into a Combi? For instance, the Knob 7 control of a Rhodes patch to increase the Chorus effect? I select the Program into the number one slot of a new ...

Well, you can add me to the list of people having this problem. I've waited since July for my 73 and now this. Very bummed and hope it's just a software glitch.
