Set the pedal globally to Realtime knob 5, 6, 7 or 8. Now you can set the RT knob CC# per combi/preset and the pedal will also control it. To exclude a combi's timbre from this control you'll need to filter both "foot pedal" and the RT knob, IIRC. Maybe not, but if filtering one doesn't work try the ...

What you're encountering happens when you uncheck "notes" at the Karma MIDI Filter page. I guess the assumption is if KARMA was running and you filtered its generated notes, you'd always want your own notes passed through. Typically you shouldn't have to disable anything there, although it's an easy ...

Enable KARMA, then at the KARMA: GE Setup/Key Zones page make these settings for one module. In channel: global channel Out channel: channel 2 Run and Thru Inside Zone: both disabled Now the module should take all Kronos controller data (no notes), convert to channel 2 & output to the timbre. Notes ...

Check if one of the realtime 5-8 knobs is set to the same CC# as your pedal. If so you'd have to filter that too or change it to something else, IIRC.

With X-Y also keep in mind that choice of direction & center volume add a lot of options for crossfades or separate actions in each half of travel. You might find that one X-Y slider can do things that would have required 2 or more basic group volume sliders.

I'd start with 3 zones: 1. Bass 2. Organ 3. Organ + Horns Allow damper to only work on zone 2, disable for the other timbres at midi filter page. Also have the damper mute organ in zone 3 when pressed, either w/ AMS in the program, or controlling level of an IFX. Now you can start the verse playing ...

You can have 3 groups with sliders sending CC#s 07, 118 & 119, or whatever your global X-Y CC#s are for the last 2. (CC#11 can be on a 4th slider if not using it for pedal, BTW.) Use MIDI Filter to set which timbres respond to CC#07. X-Y action has to be set up entirely at the X-Y volume page ...

I think you have to use "Write Global Setting" to store the new calibration data. This is true for any setting made in Global mode except drum kits which use a separate "Write Drum Kit" command.

Convert Position = PostMIDI will apply the curve to incoming MIDI notes. See Param. Guide page 772 for details.

I don't know why that doesn't work. Pitch bend is a different type of message so maybe there is some bug with that setting. In any case you can try page 2-3 Pitch. Set the Bend Range parameters to zero. Not a bug, JS X as AMS doesn't include pitch bend (Param. Guide states this). Bend range to 0 is ...

Is there light visible within the Kronos optical out port, and does it appear fairly bright at the end of the optical cable? Is there any activity on the MixControl SPDIF level meters when you play the Kronos? If the 18i20 works like the Saffire Pro 24 (which I use) it will show level and let you monitor, even though there will potentially be artifacts from sync issues.

The Focusrite should be able to sync to the Kronos. Did you set Sync Source to SPDIF in MixControl?

The KARMA route may do what you need but when I used an expression pedal to control KARMA values (by assigning CC#11 globally to KARMA slider 1) I've gotten glitches, as if the KARMA engine needs time to catch up when I make quick or continuous movements of the pedal. Just something to be aware of ...
