Hello Again, Regarding the Osc Sync mod for the MS-20 Kit, please go back in this string to Mr. White's post in May 2015. The information for doing the Osc Sync mod starts there and there is more information as you go forward on the thread. You will need a switching diode, a switch, a couple of ...

Hi, I do not check this forum frequently, so just seeing this inquiry. For PWM, there are labeled points on the MS-20 Kit circuit board. If you do a search on Google you should be able to find images of the circuit board with labeled test points. Also, do a search on "MS-20 PWM mod". If memory ...

DOD Boneshaker Distortion Pedal for Volca Bass

Hi, After doing some reading and watching some YouTube demos, I decided to buy a DOD Boneshaker distortion pedal to put some hair on my Volca Bass. This distortion has a 3 band parametric EQ and sounds good on Bass, Baritone, 8, 7 & 6 string guitars, so I thought it might work well for the Volca ...

Hi All, I finished my pwm, osc sync and filter switch mods over the weekend, including testing and reassembly. While the mods were fairly straightforward, it was an involved process between disassembly, drilling jack and hole switches, soldering, partial reassembly for testing and final assembly. I ...

HI All, I have finally started the sync, PWM and filter switch mods on my MS-20 kit yesterday. I have drilled out the front panel for the jack and switches. I hope to get the soldering done before the weekend and testing/reassembly over the weekend! Thank you for all the helpful information! Best ...

Hi Mr. White,

Thank you. Did you obtain a Phobya 3 pin connector that Nick Batt used on the Sonic State review for the filter switch?

Thanks again,

Mr. White,

Looking at your picture of the front panel of your modified MS-20 Kit, I noticed two toggle switches. I assume the toggle switch between the Total and Freq jacks turns osc sync on and off. What does the toggle switch to the right of the Korg Synthesizer logo do?

Thank you,

Hi Mr. White,

Did you put the 1N4148 diode on the wire coming off of Q3 or Q17?

I think I will also use the phone repair wire that I have on hand and keep them far away like you did.

Thanks again,

Mr. White, Looking at Remork's osc sync mod, I noticed the following: "a wise man on a nice forum mentioned that it would be best to use shielded wires and connect the shields to ground to avoid the oscillators locking when their frequencies are close. you run the risk of them syncing through stray ...

Mr. White, Thanks also for the suggestion about FM. The FM mod sounds a lot more involved and I worry that the more complicated the hack the more likely I will damage my synth. I might cut my losses on FM and just be grateful to have the additional functionality of OSC sync and PWM with relatively ...

Hi Mr. White,

The mod looks very clean and I'm excited to implement it. Did you put the 1N4148 diode on the wire coming off of Q3 or Q17?

Thank you,

Mr. White, I appreciate your research. As an owner of an MS-20 kit, I am planning to open my synth up to add PWM and osc sync. I am very interested in how this thread develops as I would like to have a clear path to performing the osc sync mod before I pick up my soldering iron. Also, having some MS ...
