I agree with that but as you can see below I liking having my modules on top.

It's working nicely now.

It's working now. Just in case it helps anyone else, here's what I did. If you have a factory reset unit there is a 'user Combi' in Bank D, 127. This seems to be the key to making this process work easily. I opened this and it has all 8 timbres set as 'Noisy Stabber', with all switched to 'off ...

So,I tried this last night and wasn't getting MIDI sent to my external module. Was in COMBI mode and had a part set to ch4 with my module also set to receive on ch4. It seemed to work outside of COMBI mode but not while in a COMBI. At one point it was working but only with the Arpeggiator switched ...

Perfect, thanks. That's kind of what it says in the manual but wanted to be sure.

Combis and external module

Can 1 zone of the Triton keyboard be assigned to play an external synth module as part of a Combi? I'm pretty sure it can, just wanted to check with the experts. Thanks.

I would use the editor way more but it simply won't communicate with my computer. I've tried removing other MIDI drivers but it still doesn't work. Anyone know if windows 10 will address this?

So I deleted a bunch of drivers including the Korg one and it now works fine. Guess you don't need the Korg driver in Win 8.1.

Not a big fan of the editor but it's functional. It needs more sliders and turntable knobs to interface with.

OK, I'll try that. I've got it hooked up via USB now and it works, but the editor is giving me issues now.

By default the editor does search the available ports for the Kronos. It searches all MIDI ports because some people do connect using MIDI and not USB. The OS2.1 editor should find a Kronos with OS3 installed. If it isn't my guess is you are running on Windows and you have exceeded the installed ...

I'm having a similar problem. Original Kronos with latest firmware. Upon rendering the editor says it can't find a compatible Kronos. I have it connected via USB but it still tries to connect via all other MIDI ins and outs. Bloody frustrating it is.

Using Editor via USB and midi controller

I just installed the Kronos editor. I use a midi controller for my Kronos due to space issues. I can't seem to be able to control the Kronos with the midi keyboard while using the editor. The controller shows up in the MIDI options but it doesn't work. Any ideas? Thanks.

While I have considered additional libraries, the cost is definitely prohibitive. If there are gaps you need to fill you're better off buying a separate sound module. I'm sure you can get a Motif rack for about the same as a couple of libraries.

Looks like I'll have to upgrade the RAM to have the D50 samples load along with the preload on start up. Is this easy to do?
