Kronos Drum Loops w/ External DAW

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to use/program the drum loops in the Kronos when you’re using an external DAW for sequencing and playback?

I am currently using Combi to access the 16 midi channels but am open to any suggestions.

Thanks a lot.

In the global menu, set the midi clock sync to "external". This will lock all tempo-based fx to the tempo received from Cubase. It will also prevent you from playing arps or karma while Cubase is not sending clock (e.g. when it is paused), something to keep in mind. The "auto" setting should adapt ...

Thank you for the information. This also explains why Karma was starting up and not stopping. :D

Kronos Arpeggiator Controlled by External DAW

Hi, I am using an external DAW with the Kronos in Combi mode and used one of the bass programs that contained the arpeggiator. When I slow down the tempo in my DAW program (Cubase) it doesn’t appear to slow down the arpeggiation of the bass line within the Kronos. Is there a way I can do this? ...

paterrob, Are you absolutely sure you have installed the Korg midi driver correctly and that it is being recognized? From over here it doesn't appear so.. Cubase has a pretty slick and tricky install/selection procedure for the driver. When you set up a track in Cubase do you see the Korg driver ...

What are you having trouble with? Put it in sequencer or combi mode an it's a 16 ch multi timbal synth like any other. Do you not already have a midi interface? While you should be able to use the USB...you're adding another layer of configuration without any reason. Also, if you're going to use ...

Re-read...just trying to output Karma? Looks like that's covered above, but what in karma do you want to record to cubase/logic? Hi, The Kronos is the only keyboard I am using currently. I want to essentailly split the Kronos in two. One half as the keyboard controller for Cubase and the sound ...

Using DAW

SeedyLee, Thanks for posting, good info here I saved it. Everything you say here works beautifully in Logic, in Live it's a whole other story. One thing to note here that may confuse some, is that if you want to record Karma's note output you must have Local Control on. Also, it has to be through ...

What external DAW (sequencing) program works best w/Kronos

Hi,
I have been using Studio One with no luck. Is anybody else using the Kronos as a keyboard controller and an external device at the same time?
What quality DAW program are you using and is it working?

Lou wrote:Try turning Local Control On and test again. If it works then you have not configured your DAW properly for Local Off. (Midi Thru)
Local "on" works fine. There is no mention of using MIDI thru on the Studio One DAW but I have configured it exactly as describrd in the set up guide.

Using the Kronos as an external device

Are you sending midi to the Kronos on the same midi channel as the Global channel? What DAW/software are you using? I'm trying to use Studio One V2 but am open to any quality DAW that will work with the Kronos. Once I turned off the internal MIDI the controller portion just started working ...

Using the Kronos as an external device

I am unable to get the Kronos to produce any sound while using it as an external device. I have turned MIDI local "off" and tried various combinations in both the Combi and Seq mode, although I would prefer to control the external device via the Seq mode. The keyboard portion has been set up as a ...
