I'm not seeing a 15KHz spike btw. Just the 20KHz. ...and a smaller USB spike at 7300Hz (could cure by disconnecting USB, or by using USB opto-isolator). The 20KHz spike is showing at about -75db. Over-all, noise-floor is at around -88db. I could add though, that none of my other kit has this effect.

I'm thinking for studio work - don't use on-board delays and reverbs, then use a noise gate on Kronos inputs.

Still irks though.

If Kronos would work with multiple sample-rates, it probably wouldn't be as much of an issue.

High frequency noise on Kronos analogue outputs

All,

Has anyone else seen this? If I use a spectrum display on my DAWs, Kronos seems to exhibit a constant spike at around 20KHz.

Digital output is (not surprisingly) OK.

I've tried a USB opto-isolator, but no difference. Any thoughts?

That's great news! I find it impossible to edit on the Kronos screen, due to failing eye-sight.

Not sure that I'd update. A multi-touch capacitive display would be nice though. I'm really not interested in the workstation (sequencer etc.) element. I just want a sound comprehensive design / performance instrument. Kronos really fits that role for me. Not sure what a new Kronos-type machine ...

I don't really need a machine with in-built sequencer, but in many cases, that seems to be be the basis for most of the good multi-timbral, polyphonic synths. Knronos is great (although would be better with e proper Mac/PC editor), but I'd swap for a machine with all the synth engines and no ...

Also, the sub-system update is meant to improve reliability of USB audio streaming.

I'm now using a MIDI port on my Mac to connect to my Kronos. That way, I can get Cubase up and running whilst waiting for Kronos to start.

I've had various problems with Kronos MIDI over USB.

Downloading up-to-date KLC plug-ins, on migrated system

Apologies for the daft question, but I can't find anywhere to download up-to-date versions via the new Korg shop system.

Anyone figured out how it works?

do you record to a DAW ? Yes - Cubase and Ableton, depending on the project. 1 of the best strengths of Kronos is streaming from SSD. I think we mostly take it for granted but if you look around, no other keyboard product co is doing this. ..which is why I said: "ALL the sound-design capabilities ...

Wonder if I'm in a minority, but I don't actually use my Kronos as a workstation (recording and playback). I use it as a master keyboard in the studio and as a workhorse synth on-stage. The sequencer doesn't really have the right work-flow for me as a production device. I'm also not ever-so happy ...

Yep - I've been hoping that Korg would take that kind of approach for a few years. They could spin it as an environmental approach too!

My 2011 MBP has been possibly the best machine I've ever owned. Whilst the plastic started breaking off my Dell's and similar, this one has been running like a champ so far. I swapped the hard drive out for an SSD and maxed out the memory, but it's hardly a Trigger's broom. :)
