so have we determined definitively that the same algorithms do not exist for both the wavedrum and the mini? I understand that it is just a "preset player" which is a bummer, but if the mini DOES share DNA with the original wavedrum then maybe its possible to simply port over some sounds from the ...

yeah, i'm having no luck with this spreadsheet in excel 2008 for mac, i'll try openoffice and see if I can get anywhere with that-- even blind experimentation for the wavedrum mini sounds cool! **** EDIT: got the spreadsheet open with NeoOffice-- i'm not sure what to do with the txt file from you ...

i think i agree with you freestok, especially about not including a USB port (midi, easily removable SD card, etc.) But the thing that strikes me most, is that there doesn't seem to be much OPPOSITION to doing such work-- I'm not sure what you mean by "keymap" as i'm not an engineer, but the thing ...

wait, i'm not sure i understand here-- you have actually figured out how to replace the PCM sounds? I dont understand why it wouldn't then be possible for someone OTHER than korg to make a piece of software to accomplish this... Doesn't really seem to be a reason to be disheartened to me, and ...

yeah seems to be true-- i wasn't suggesting that the max/msp patch be connected to the wavedrum, just that it basically accomplishes the same thing while also fulfilling our desires to be able to change algorithms etc-- also any max patches can be used for free with the max runtime-- also the clip ...

WaterDrum-- sorry for the long time between replies-- i haven't tried out the loops from the other wavedrums (i'll check them out eventually, but im not really interested in playing along to loops) I'm REALLY interested in being able to change the sounds coming from the wavedrum, and especially ...

cool, thanks waterdrum and freestok-- i'm very much looking forward to see what your research yields-- waterdrum-- i tend to be pretty cavalier with the electronics i purchase-- so even if i am afraid of messing something up, I just cannot resist my curiosity, so i've long ago stopped trying to ...

I'm also interested in replacing the sounds (since the wavedrum mini cannot actually change it's internal sounds) I've got the hang of replacing the loops, which may be useful in some capacity, but i'm far more interested in actually changing the samples that I can play. I'm thinking i'm going to ...
