I can run my Kurzweil PC3 through the SV-1 without any distortion. It saves having to take out the keyboard mixer if it is a simple gig, and I would say the sound quality is better going through the SV-1.

As Low Class says - a PC3x is a good choice. It has a nice weighted action. But you have dished out for the PC3 already. :( The SV-1 doesn't really cut it as a MIDI controller - only one channel at a time, and no wheels or assignable controls. So I would probably use the PC3 with the Code 8 synth ...

I am using a Yamaha footswitch, and also a Yamaha footpedal. They both work fine. It is necessary to calibrate the pedals and this procedure is described in the manual. :)

Hats off to the SV-1

I recently bought an SV-1 88 in an auction. It was from a music store, and had been damaged (in an earthquake). The top 8 keys were broken at the pivots. When I tried it out before bidding, everything else worked so I know at least it would be an 80 note keyboard. That's a bonus of 4 over a 76 note ...
