Hi, yes this is normal. I mean mine has it too so it must be a design choice of the EQ curve. It is rather easy to hear. I am not very happy with it either. It asks for more subtle handling of the EQ knobs. I think it is just made for dj style "cut and throw that mf beat back in!" action. :wink:

i have no syncing or bleeding issue's when using the Rockstar. I use only with (rechargeable) battery's to stay clear from any ground loop problems. Biggest issue when not using a mixer is the weak output volume from Volca Beats. But it sure is workable. good luck some volca tips: http://undertone.nu
