I have just started experiencing the same problem, When I play "hard" on the sv-1 it breaks up (not in a good way) and kinda cuts in and out. It plays fine if I don't push it. That would be my first guess... but that's based on my knowledge of guitar amp tubes. I don't know why Korg says the tube must be replaced by a service center.
