Yeah. When I first got the SV-1 the organ volumes were staggeringly higher than the others. Really, since I used the organ more like a rhythm/background instrument in the group I was in, I lowered its volume with the editor. No more startlingly loud bursts of sounds when I cycle through them now.

I'm glad this forum exists and I'm glad to know the SV-1 has such an unusual quirk. I've never stood it on its side, but if you've done a lot of shows, and you've done load-ins, you know the venues save space by standing keyboards on their sides. Very good to know. Of course, if my keys happen to ...

I have had numerous guitars and keyboards I've had to sell over the years because of personal issues. I've been through a Gibson Les Paul Black Beauty, a Jackson Charvel neck-thru axe, a Steinberger bass, a 1973 brown Fender Strat, a Korg DW8000 (remember those?), a Casio FZ-1 (remember those ...

The Twinton Pack I just d/l is 12 kb in size. Just to clear this up. There aren't new sounds, right? Just variations on the ones already built into the instrument?

Oh, yes. The dreaded Editor. Had me pulling my hair - what's left of it - in the beginning. After acquiring the updates, it worked...sometimes. It sure was finicky. My OS was W7 64bit back then. I had to jump through a few hoops, but it worked. I haven't loaded it with my new OS, W8, but since Korg ...

If I remember well, it has to do with the way the pedal is wired; that is, the plus and negative connections are reversed for the Korg SV-1. I had to buy a pedal from Guitar Center with reverse polarity and it works fine.

I have the same keyboard. I bought mine in 2010. This is not an answer, but I wonder if the SV-1, with its reliance on analog-type characteristics, was designed for full midi implementation. They probably figure that, eh, the SV-1 won't be used as a sound module, so why bother adding midi ...

With my SV-1, I took out the transistor organs. They were too thin and nasally. I replaced them with organs. Now my organ section has 3 clean organs and 3 dirty ones. It's interesting. With the stereo chorus effect on the electric pianos, when you play solo it sounds fine. Blend that sound in with a ...

I have Alesis M1Active 520USB monitors. After about a year of ownership, I started getting snaps & crackles from it. I traced it to its on & off knob. I wonder if that's what happened with the SV-1 in this case.

I've had mine for about 2 years now but only used it in one gig because we broke up. Naturally, I can't comment on its road worthiness. Still, it seems pretty solid. Just gets dusty from time to time.

What is the average amount of time between keyboard models anyway? About 3 years. Tastes change so fast it seems almost inevitable they will release a SV-2. I could already see them adding more memory, more velocity layers, etc. If they can find some way of expanding the tone wheel section for the ...
