Hi rkeytar,

I suppose one option - if my Poly-61 is discovered to be in a bad state - is to sell it on eBay 'For Spares'; and then purchase a replacement with the funds gained. There is one currently advertised (with MIDI) but is over 500GBP.

Are you based in the UK, please?

Thanks,

Paul

Hi rkeytar,

I am not sure if you are familiar with these boards from Germany (see LINK)? It may be a last resort option if all else fails.

Ta,

Paul

Thanks a lot rkeytar,

I have an electrician coming over to have a look at it over the next couple of months. I will let you know how he gets on after he has investigated it.

It's truly devastating when a vintage synth goes under.

Cheers,

Paul

Hi folks, I fired up my Poly 61 this week and its acting strange in that it played fine for 5 mins, but then half of the notes are not sounding and the other half are completely out of tune! I don't know why this has suddenly occurred? I see (above) rkeytar said that battery leakage can cause a lot ...

Hi, Does anyone have a list of the NAMES of what the FACTORY SOUNDS are on the Korg 'Poly_61' please? It would be very interesting and helpful to be able to know the precise descriptions. Obviously with the synth having only a numeric LED it is not possible to be certain of the genre under which ...

Hi folks, Here is my first ever REMIX created in Cubase and predominantly featuring the (1983) Korg 'Poly 61' synthesizer (please see 'You Tube' LINK at foot of page). It is a revamp of the (1984) hit " High Energy " by soul singer Evelyn Thomas. It seems everyone is making REMIXES these days and so ...

RE: POLY_61 ( A Dedicated Discussion)

Hi folks, I won a POLY_61 recently on eBay UK! I would like to start a thread asking some questions and also (at a later point) offering some (audio) demonstrations and alike. Would this be the correct forum in which to place my thread, and do you think members might be interested in assisting me as ...

Hi guys,

Would someone please be kind enough to post a LINK to (say on eBay) the LEAD I would need to transfer a Poly_61 Wav. (factory RELOAD) from my PC? I think it would need to be something like a USB to 1/4" Jack or something?

Thanks a lot . . .

RE: Kloodle (Student & Ex-Student Website).

Hi folks, Having completed a part time college recently, all students were informed about a new-ish site called KLOODLE, and to create a profile on there. The guys who run the site are from Manchester (here in the UK) and I have spent some time this week getting to know them via email and live-chat ...

Hi,

The M3R seller is only a few miles away so I could easily pick it up. But not so for the M1R.

Hi, The eBay seller sent me some pic's of the M3R . It was well gigged and has many scratches. But he assures me it is all working fine and he replaced the battery about 3 x years ago. I have asked him to check to see if the MIDI PORT 's wobble when you plug in a lead and move it slightly. This is a ...

Hi, See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamaha_YS200 Ok, I never seen those before. A strange looking device! lol Something like a DX21 with a SEQUENCER and DRUM MACHINE ? The Nord might well use a Fatar, but Yamaha has made their own keybeds - the FS was first used on the DX7. DX7 (Mark 1) has a ...

Hi, Also, do you think that the TRITON series is superior to the M1 type models? Obviously the latter is OLDER. I would guess the the TRITON still uses Korg's AI SYNTHESIS , albeit a more sophisticated version? If this is so, then would the obvious/recommended pathway be for the learner to study the ...

Hi, I don't know why. You might try another browser I tried it with MOZILLA and GOOGLE CHROME but it kept saying "Timed out". Not to worry. The Yamaha YS200 (4-op FM) has a small display and such poor/limited on-board editing that I wrote my own editor/librarian program for it, so I know why you're ...
