Re: Ensemble & M3

Het everyone! Does M3 has "ensemble" function like the pa800 and pa3x? I would like to make harmony with guitar... Thanks in advance... tom. With the M3 the way to do this is to program such harmony with Karma. But unlike the arranger keyboards (which are built for being backup bands) the M3 is a ...

I just watched a review of this new Roland. To be honest I'm disgusted with the lack of progress in the music electronics industry. Particularly with workstations but in other areas too. Completely losing faith. They were excited that you could select other tracks and sounds at the same time that ...

So how did you make out? Thanks for asking! The PC3K factory strings do sound better, but that's about all it has going for it (for me; I know many happy Kurz owners). Most of the other Korg factory sounds either match or exceed the Kurz sounds, and I definitely prefer the Korg touchscreen and ...

Re: Playing GM Midi files on the M3

Just wondering, is it easier to play through my DAW and configure this way? or load directly into the sequencer with USB? I'm getting strange results, not sure if the M3 is very GM compatible, I had a roland previously which did not need much editing channels etc for drums and instruments. Keep in ...

Re: Roland and Yamaha are on notice!!! after Namm 2013

Right now Roland and Yamaha look so bad compared to Korg's offerings they need to go home and re invent themselves I would also say the workstation market is not what it once was. Mobile devices have been much more popular, soft synths have been the rage for a while, and analog is making a comeback ...

even in 2007 they could of implemented ddr memory slots or even simms but its obvious now it was a revenue generator for them, korg had no intention in charging us for the exb sound sets and was more than likely the plan from the start. they would win either way because to use the exbs all at once ...

the oasys is linux based not the m3 and the cost of official korg memory in the uk is ridiculous purchasing it from korg usa would end up being the same price of buying it from a music store here i am gonna take my chances on the 3rd party memory. You might be right, but I am pretty sure I read ...

Re: Help with routing audio

I am routing my m3 audio out the L/R outputs and the 1/2 outputs. However, I cannot adjust the volume of 1/2 output with the volume main slider. How can I adjust the volume of 1/2 from the front panel sliders? Please any help is appreciated! Thank you. Anytime you route sound out the auxiliary ...

Re: Korg M3 EXB-M256

I am wanting to upgrade my M3 with the extra sample ram but the prices are crazy, well over £200 for just 256megs? The problem with the extra RAM card, from what I've been told, is the compatibility with Korg's Linux-based OS. Korg's chip set will work faster and better than cheaper parts. Here in ...

... its odd korg missed out a feature like that because you can alter all velocities at once etc. And you can edit note lengths in event edit but not all at once, it would be a total perfect synth sequencer then, dont get me wrong i love my korg m3 I was hoping for this update, too. When you think ...

I don't agree with all of your points, but number 5 is a really good one. The VSTi market grew explosively between 2000 and 2010, both in scope and in sound quality. Many smaller studios or home studios suddenly had a ton of excellent sounds available in their computer. I would also really not ...

Not hooked up to the computer either? When you first boot up, if you go to global, is local control set to on amd midi clock set to internal? Yes, this is a good point. When you start-up the M3 is your USB hooked into your computer and do you have any software running (like a DAW or notation ...

the M3, if anything, is easier to program than the Triton, because it has a clearer touchscreen and more sliders and knobs. The main difference I think is that the Triton series lasted a LONG time because of it's multiple reincarnations that were essentially backwards compatible. It's still a nice ...

M3 discontinued

I honestly believe both the M3 and the M3M have come to the end of their production with Korg. Nothing wrong with that. The first M3 rolled off the line in 2007, and the expanded version in 2009, so the board has been around a long while. As long as Korg continues some support for the board that ...
