I think this is due to velocity sensing and the application of sound effects on certain types of sounds. I don't think you'll get the same effect on piano, but you will on flute, sax, and harmonica.

Just bought a MA today and I was working my way through the quick start manual and noticed that I only have 80 Performances! The quick start manual says I should have 160, but all the lower banks are empty!

Ok I hear you. If it were mine, I would be tempted to open it up and see if there are any dodgy/dry joints on the board or blown/leaking electrolytic capacitors. Hmmm, that would explain things somewhat. But checking in the manual where it gives the overview, it says "512 preset sounds Banks A–D each contain 128 sounds,..."

To my horror I noticed banks C and D have reverted to 'Init program'. I certainly do not remember doing that! Even worse when I load the file: Default ALL DATA for MonoPoly.mp4all it too has the 'Init program' in banks C and D.

Is there a way to get back the default preset patches?
