Wurli
Hi Kurt. I own a Wurli 200A, and I love the feel of it. It's the SV1's feel that I don't like (yes, sluggish), and which has broken 4 keys now -- I broke an additional one trying move a good key from up high to the high traffic area in the middle. It's tricky.

fixing it myself
I'm not too handy but it was going to be $195 each time I broke a key (4 or 5 now -- ridiculous), so I had to learn how to do it myself. Got some fairly good instructions at Just Answer and moved a couple of offending keys to the high end (after some sweating and hollering), but now I have to move a ...

I've broken 4
Never broken a key before, in 25 years of gigging. They break on the inside and then stick in the down position. They don't break completely -- I can flip the key back up. Getting really tired of it and hoping Korg does something to make it up to us.

It's always something
It's true, binky, that there's always something to complain about. Some years back I owned a Rhodes and though it had lovely moments, it rarely cut through the mix, it always sounded wimpy. I started messing around inside adjusting the tuning and timbre, but that was a can of worms I didn't have the ...

Wurlitzer way better feel than SV-1
If you're saying that the keyboard bed on the SV-1 is "far better than the original Rhodes or Wurlitzer keyboards", I totally disagree. I have an old Wurlitzer set up right next to my SV-1, and the feel is much lighter, less clunky, with a satisfying bounce. I can play quite a bit faster on my ...

Past my warrantee
I never really noticed clicking, BUT I've had three keys break already, and I never break keys. The action also feels sluggish to me -- I can't play as fast as I can on my old upright. I'm past my warrantee and I don't know if there's anything they could do about the action anyway, so I'm thinking ...

Thanks
Thanks for the detailed reply, Bill. I have not been much of a module guy in the past. I'm kind of lazy and always opt for the simplest setup possible. But what you say makes sense. I'm trying to decide whether weighted keys is something I really need. It's hard to know for sure just playing ...

Best inexpensive live keyboard
Advice anyone? I'm getting tired of my SV1 73. Action too stiff and I've broken 4 keys, and I miss having a broad range of sounds. I'm considering trying out a non-weighted keyboard. I don't need a workstation, don't need sequencing, just awesome sounds, especially piano and EPs. I'd prefer 73 keys ...

discontented with SV1 73
I've had my Sv1 for 3 years. Love the EPs, like the pianos, organs OK. BUT I've gotten tired of the stiff feel -- I can play faster and freer on my old upright. AND I've broken three or four keys now, and I've never broken a key in my life (DX9, Ensoniq Mirage, Kurzweil k2000, Roland RD700, Motif ...
