Show me a new 8 voice, multi oscillator, analog poly for $500. For $1k, there's Futuresonus Parva that had its Kickstarter (currently they're fulfilling funders, but it's going on sale in due time). $1k for an 8-voice, 3 oscillator, 2 filters, 4 envelopes and 4 LFOs synth. Not bad at all. https ...

By the way, last night I was attempting (and failing due to software) to measure the filter roll off on the CS. I noticed that there is some local velocity sensitivity from its keyboard. It is very slight, and hardly any range. But it was detectable on the scope levels, audible, and repeatable. I ...

I know we're supposed to keep it civil in here but I applaud this post. And for clarification, while I responding to a question of why I bought a reface, my response to "naysayers" wasn't personally directed at any one person. I didn't mean to come across as uncivilized. Far from it. I don't walk ...

Yep true, two questions though what is OTB and ITB? OTB: out the box: physical keyboard synths, modules, and effects ITB: in the box: soft synths (vsts) running on a PC/iPad, with an external controller There's some blur with VA's (virtual analog) such as reface, boutique, Nord, as these are a ...

Ewww, why did you buy that? Five reasons: 1. I'm an OTB hardware freak. My girlfriend calls me a gear hoarder. ;) I see it as collecting future firmware upgrade projects for when I retire. 2. At the time I was laid up on painkillers and being scheduled for surgery. I couldn't resist amazon prime ...

I too bought the CS. Likes: Simple speedy interface Clever multi functions on various sliders. The slider that varies the EG between organ gate and ADSR is brilliant. Greater range than most vintage synths: saturated depths, mod speeds into the audio range. Strong FX section. Reverb is missing but ...

The Kross uses nearly the same synth engine as the Microstation. Both have the same bizarre flaw within the effects: a combi cannot have both a delay and reverb. Take a closer look at your effects set up. I highly suspect that you have a reverb that is on somewhere. If you disable the reverb, you ...

You said you reloaded the factory sounds. Have you tried reinstalling the firmware from Korg support? That might put it back into the default state.

The Kross has a lot of shared iEDS architecture with the Microstation. And the Microstation is strongly related to the PS60. The PS60 had 3 dedicated sections on the right panel for modulation effects (chorus, flanger, phaser), reverb/delay (but not both), and EQ. This section became master effects ...

Ok, you said you changed the power supply. Did you use one that was 9V center positive polarity? Because most 9V power supplies are negative polarity. If you did use the proper polarity, is the power supply rated to supply 1.7 amps? Else if it's trying to pull that much current, the supply will heat ...

An update. As it turned out one or more of my rechargeable batteries were suspect. I charged the batteries and put them into another piece of gear that shortly failed. I put in a different set of NiMH batteries into the Kross and it's running now. Still, I wouldn't mind finding out why the manual ...

I am using it lots in this combo and enjoy using my R8 to start/stop the beats/brute... that way can be sure they start at exactly the same time ... but am guessing a ipod or mp3 player could be set up to do the same. That's interesting. On mine I was picking up sync pulses from the Volca Beats ...

Hi, I made a quick video to demonstrate the issues with CV gate from the Beats, and also included a view of the settings for the MicroBrute. Cheers!
