The sequencer nor the patch panel do not transmit anything, the transport does, and the keyboard transmits notes and the knobs send the cc commands as above. A shame that it doesn’t send cc from patching, would have bern handy to say have stepped random modulating one of the konbs and sending cc but ...

Volca drum midi implementation

I hooked up to the TX point and read the midi stream, so here is the midi implementation chart ghetto style. Mine was transmitting on midi ch1, midi channel can be changed globally, so I think it is safe to assume that the CC values are only for the active part, a shame. Notes parts 1-6: 60, 62, 64 ...

It is a well known issue, the common ground between the sync and audio sockets is why, with a mono plug you are effectively shorting the ring and tip together, meaning that the audio signal on the ring is going to ground causing it to put noise on the ground which will mess up the sync. The solution ...

Volca modular midi in and out information

It has the pads for midi connections on the PCB. You will need to use an optocoupler for midi in. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bu8ftuqFJYy/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=aar6yliy8tm9 Just tested the midi functionality, see IG clip for details. Here is all the info about midi in and out for volca ...

Did you ever try a mod for this? A lot of newer Korg gear has this annoying power switch issue and it seems really dumb to me, fine if using batteries but when being powered by a psu I do not see the point of it.

+1 Belkin Rockstar is NOT a mixer, get a proper passive mixer, not much more expensive than the Belkin but will sound a lot better, actually mix the signals as opposed to feeding them into eachother, and they won't damage your gear.

Yes I think it sounds great, it has a nice sound probably due to the analog isolator smoothing everything even when not used drastically. I seem to remember the sample rate being about 32khz so probably adds to the grit slightly too.

The power button is a non latching switch, so the problem is electronic, return it as faulty.

If syncing up a lot of Volcas only, then skip midi and use the sync ports, cheaper cables and much less likely to cause problems.

I only have 2 VS, 1 each VKeys,VBass,VBeats and 12 Monotribes, although I never use them all at once (yet).

I use a variety of different ones, but for quick jams I made this no batteries and way better than the Belkin rockstar I was using before.
