Re: Kronos System update 3.2.1 for all released?
(These forums are cooked, it’s just taken me 15 minutes to login, so I appreciate the probability of a reply will be similarly linked to the ability of others to login!) Since downgrading isn’t possible, can anyone confirm if the bug with onboard help not rendering correctly has been fixed? The onb ...

Not sure what the issue with the PSU is? It looks to me to be a linear power supply, versus the switch-mode PSU in the K1, which should be quieter and more reliable? The smaller PSU is possible because the K3 consumes much less power, and therefore generates less heat than previous models. It's easy ...

Re: Startup display still show SGX-1 not SGX-2
Hmm, I am almost certain none of the main operating system updates included a subsystem firmware update, as it’s an entirely different update process (and I have used every version since 1.0.3, if memory serves!) Have you verified that the subsystem firmware installed correctly? I have a faint r ...

Re: Startup display still show SGX-1 not SGX-2
The short answer is that you just need to install the latest subsystem firmware from Korg’s website, which is separate from the main operating system. You can find them here: https://www.korg.com/au/news/2019/030502/ It will be either version 1.10 or 6.06, depending on if you’re upgrading the ori ...

Re: NAMM 2025 Rumor - New flagship incoming?
I’d be happy if it was a Fatar keybed in the new Kronos to be sure, but it’s a deeper mechanical design with the fulcrum point further recessed than the one used in previous models. Korg’s website still has the 61 key model as being the “natural touch” 61, the same moniker they’ve used in the past. I ...

Re: NAMM 2025 Rumor - New flagship incoming?
A few things. Firstly, I very much doubt that they’ve moved to ARM for the simple fact that they are making the updated OS available for the older Kronos 2 - I just couldn’t imagine them doing that if they weren’t sharing a common operating system between the two versions, though anything is possi ...

Re: NAMM 2025 Rumor - New flagship incoming?
I’ve been following that site for years and agree that it’s not a mainstream, click bait oriented site. It’s usually filled with interesting insights that he’s verified himself. I’d say it’s credible if it appears there. My bet would be that it will be a minimal reworking, with the same main board, s ...

Re: I hope we are back permanently. Merry Christmas
So happy to see korgforums up and running again! Even if new posts aren't as frequent as they once were, it's such a vast trove of knowledge that I had worried we'd lost from the internet forever.
Thanks to all involved in getting it back up and running!

There's a little known setting in Global that affects the way the Kronos sequencer behaves in this regard. Under Global -> MIDI, there's an option titled "SEQ MIDI Out Setup". When set to the default of "For Master", the sequencer will send reset messages for program change and certain continuous ...

FS: Kronos 1 End Cheeks / Caps
Hi all, I have a pair of original Kronos 1 end caps for sale in good condition. A few very minor marks and scratches (which seem unavoidable with gloss black plastic), but I would say they are in much better condition than average. PM me if interested and we can discuss details. Happy to ship ...

Very good point. Yes, I think the M3 and M50 use the same engine, with different sample sets, and EDS-i and EDS-x came later. I will need to check, but I’m pretty sure that EDS-X and EDS-i use the same, or very similar, tone generation chip - just with the addition of an FPGA and additional cache m ...
