I use the Gator GK-88 too. I wouldn't trust a roadie with it either; then again if I had the luxury of roadies I would get a hard case. I always make sure I'm the one moving it and never let anything be put on top of it.

You could also use a USB keyboard directly into the Kronos. That's what I do for entering notes for songs in my set list. Of course, if you're using the Editor for other things too then it doesn't matter.

Is this the only $1000 or less (88 key) workstation/stage piano/synth with 3 pedal inputs? I'm helping a friend replace her old Triton LE with something lighter. I know you could use a midi foot pedal but she wants to keep it simple.

Haha, I don't invite them to, but sometimes they just walk up and touch something... I can't stand it but I don't think it would help the relationship to grab his arm and move it off the board. I want to be heard in the FOH mix...

Hi Kevin, I just saw your post. I mainly play cello and guitar in pits, but I've played keyboard for 2 shows now using my Kronos. I know a few other local keyboardists that use Mainstage and my Kronos has been more reliable (of course using a UPS) with no issues. Mostly for that reason, I much ...

That's what I do, and I always laugh when the sound guy adjusts my Main Volume knob when he's setting up the direct box.

I wish there was. I just use SPDIF but then I'm locked into 48khz sample rate. Anyone know if there's a way around that, or if I have to use 48khz on all projects that use Kronos?

Playing Baba O'Riley live

Anyone play Baba O'Riley live without a sequencer (ie. playing all the notes)? How do you do it? I have a cool combi with Busch's alternate program on one timbre and the upright piano chords triggered by the pads so I could do everything. Unfortunately that means everyone else in the band needs to ...

Thanks for your in depth answer. I've had players suggest using 'Cyber Power CP 685 AVR'. Any thoughts on that unit? That's the model I use. I use it at home for my computer/studio (including Kronos) and I take it out with the Kronos once or twice a month to gig. I've had it for about a year with ...

...or we could just sing it! Not if you want to do it like it was performed on the original recording... But of course that's always a legitimate option! And it would represent a coming-full-circle of sorts, wouldn't it? Instead of using sampler keyboards to recreate for live ...

Turns out it was a bad converter. Monoprice sent me a replacement and I didn't have to ship back the bad one. All good now. I just wish the Kronos wasn't locked at 48khz... oh well, I think there are some workarounds.

So I tried connecting my DVD player, which has coax and optical outputs, to my interface. I was able to get the clocks to sync using only the coax cable straight from the DVD player to the interface. However, I only got a very high pitched sine-sounding wave in the inputs (maybe 14-15k or so). I ...

Everything's in all the way. There's no setting for bitdepth in the Firestudio control panel... The DAW I've been using (Kristal Audio Engine) doesn't have a bitdepth setting (set to 32 bit until you mixdown). I'm trying Reaper and I don't see a bitdepth option there either. I see sample rate...
