I completely agree. These are fantastic emulations, but I have to maintain an ancient laptop to have them viewable at a reasonable size.

The MIDI implementation chart for the Keys appears to indicate that it neither sends nor receives note off messages.

I tried this a couple of weeks ago. The card was not recognized. I suspect that the NS5R would need to be upgraded with NX5R firmware. My vote is for the NS5R. Fingers crossed!

Short answer: No.
The Duo is not controllable in the same way as the original Monotron. Unlike the other models, the pitch is controlled by a microprocessor. There is one individual who was able to control a Duo, but it was much more complicated than controlling the original.
