FS: EXT DI

First of all, my apologies for the spam. I have a used EXB DI that I don't need anymore. Perfect condition - first owner, installed only once in my Oasys. I am located in the EU. Make an offer, if you are interested. Thanks!

Sina, I don't get it - Grace devices you talk about are monitor controllers - not interfaces. Anyway, putting Grace and Fireface together, for me it makes really no sense - functionally or sound wise. Do you use Grace as a AD converter, then digitally to RME and DAW, and then back to Grace? If yes ...

Re: High End Format converter options

RME sounds WAY better than Apogee in EVERY possible way I could think of. That's an overstatement - to my experience RME coverters (even their high end ADI line) are nowhere near to Apogee Rosetta, not to mention AD/DA16x. And just to show you how much MORE Apogee is, look at the Duet. 2 Channels ...

Hi Anukis, First of all, Apogee Big Ben is not a AD or DA converter, but a digital clock used to synchronize digital devices. If you are looking for something only for the Oasys, I would look into ADAT option - you can (or could) buy ADAT board for the Oasys and buy an ADAT interface, eg. RME ...

BTW, I also prefer buying analog gear - looks better, feels better, retains its value. I have just bought a Horch RM2J microphone that makes even Oasys preamps and 16-bit converters sound unbelievably good. I am sure I will have it longer than any plugin, Mac or even Oasys:-).

Hi Iksrazal, as far as drums are concerned - have you heard Superior Drummer 2.0? They are primarily rock drums but the quality is astounding - no hardware, apart from real drums, can touch it by long run. I like Oasys drums too (cymbals aside) - acoustic or electronic - and I use it very often (but ...

Hi Anukis, It is very easy - you can do it in a 15 minutes. No need to reinstall you system. You will be able to route 8 channels of audio through the ADAT - you can also assign one the 4 pairs for the sum as on outputs. Please check if you Oasys doesn't need modification to synchronize clocks - low ...

Hi Mike, thanks for the link - yes, the first part of Transformers was much better to watch and to listen to:-). Gonna buy one:-). I recently sat at the Roland V-piano and I found it amazing. IMO it was more musical/piano-like experience than playing Ivory/East West or Oasys piano (I like it a lot ...

Kevin/Mike:-) - I appreciate your input and to be honest I agree nearly all the points you postulate. I am a song-writer (pop/rock) and currently I am also finalizing my first CD that will be published till the end of the year. I am primarily a guitarist and I love quality instruments - I own a ...

Hi Kevin, I see your point, but don't you think that the current state of synth integration with DAW and cheapness of the controllers partly stem from the unwillingness of the Big 3 to take software world seriously? I will give an example from the engineering department. People claim that mixing ITB ...

Thanks for the insight Dan - right on the spot. But on the other hand, there are some companies that seem to be doing quite well, for example - Spectrasonics or East West - once I read that EW sold about million copies of their products even though most of them I believe have been pirated on PC. And ...

I agree with Vermeer — I think Korg would earn a lot offering Oasys engines as plugs. It is quite probable that even if they lower the price to 500 USD per Oasys plugin pack their profits would be higher that from Oasys sales. Most people I know work with VIs and master keyboards and this userbase c ...

This is the longest and most fruitless threat on this forum. I was a bit suprized when Korg announced that they had decided to stop the development but is seems to me that some people are overreacting. Would I want to have a better sequencer in Oasys - sure! But I don't. More EXis - yes! But ...

Hi Marv I have tried several MIDI interfaces (Edirol, M-audio) and I had many problems with my Oasys and MIDI. Then I switched to motu midi express 128 and everything works perfect in Logic and Nuendo. Instead of the mixer, I'd rather choose separate components - Tascam converters are not on pair ...
