Re: Note dropout in early Kronos models

When I bought my Kronos back in 2011 or 2012, I remember hearing that some of the early models had a peculiar behavior where notes would cut off or drop out after striking the note. Not all the time, but enough to be unacceptable - was especially noticeable when playing acoustic piano. I thought my ...

I have the Kronos 1. Since 2011. After all the OS updates its been pretty stable. Had to replace the Joystick once. Due to going out of tune issues. Had a couple of lockups due to early software bugs in the early days. Mostly all have been resolved. Once had an error due to a faulty USB stick ...

Yup. Bad joystick. Mine did the same thing a couple of years ago. Replaced it, been fine ever since. If you're tech savvy, its not too bad to replace. Ordered mine from here https://www.guitar-parts.com/catalog/korg-joystick-assem-m3-pa3x-joy0001001 Here is another place for parts... https://syntaur ...

Could be hardware issue. Does it do it from the headphone port also? Have you tried updating to the latest OS version? Could possibly fix the problem.

Thanks for your input. The DR880 was another one I was looking at but reviews were saying it had limited memory. And complaints of complicated programming. Also was looking at some Elektron boxes and while cool, I probably wont get into that much editing. But maybe. The Digitakt was another one I ...

Re: Korg Kronos drum programming

What do you find easier to work with? The Kronos for making drum patterns and sequences or a stand alone drum machine? Considering picking up an Alesis SR18 because programming on the Kronos seems tedious to me. Thoughts? might depend what you are doing. jamming around the house vs producing multi ...

I know it is "overkill" but I am looking for an 88 key "synthesizer" that has the best grand piano sounds first and foremost - and then the other instrument sounds come secondary. The new Kronos LS88 is a light touch 88 key (aka semi-weighted) that might be something to look at. Aka, 88 synth keys ...

As alland suggested, re-seat the ram is the first thing you should try. Sometimes they (ram chips) work themselves lose enough to loose connection intermittently. Also, temp changes, etc might cause it. Or there may be a slight bit of oxidation on the contacts. Re-seating the ram usually clears it ...

You really need a guitar player with an actual talkbox to do the Bon Jovi song (or Aerosmith's "Sweet Emotion", or Joe Walsh's "Rocky Mountain Way". Seriously, this is one of the few "sounds" you cannot adequately cover with samples on a keyboard. Seems like this guy nails it... https://www.youtube ...
