Kurzweil PC3 LE series have hardware problems (I have sent back 2 already) - it will randomly just stop - and then the LEDs flash - and the whole instrument is un useable. Kurzweil know there is a problem with the PC3 LE range (and other ranges apparently). So although you may have got the LE3 ...

I would love a Nord Electro 4d - but at £1300 - it's a bit (alot) out of my budget - although the keys look great (piano weighted style - which is what I would like / want) the brass / orchestra sounds seem to let it down - whereas the pianos organ rhodes excel. I guess my options are : Korg Krome ...

ex Korg user went to Kurzweil - now in the market for Korg

I have a korg x50 - which was getting a bit dated for gigs, so last year I got myself a Kurzweil PC3LE6 - spec was great, piano, elec piano, hammond, brass / orchestra were all excellent. My first LE6 died after 4 weeks - totally dead - leds flashing - nothing else. So I got a replacement sent out ...

The effect settings that you get with the RT20, cant you get them on the X50 ? , I will check later. The whole point (I think) of the x-50 is that all the effects you need are onboard and that using off board effects just adds to more kit.

Here's hoping (and a happy new year to all)

Korg X50 or M50 for Hammond / Rhodes sounds

Hi All,

I have an X50 which I use in my band I liked the X50 because it was so portable, the sounds were useable, although never quite bang on the nail.
Is the M50 any better than the X50 ?

I've had this happen a couple of times, the sounds go very quiet. Ive got around this by 'wiggling' in and out the 1/4 inch jack cable - and / or switching off/on. I always thought it was down to cheap components on the input.

eh ?

There is no compression effect on PROG B001 - the IFX is St Grapphic 7EQ and the master effects are 16.St Chorus and 53 SmoothHall .

Can you let me know what copmpression effects and the params you used to get it louder ?
cheers

other way around with the volumes

I have found (and tested) that the combi's are quieter. I have used combi C127 (blank patch) copied in for example the A001 acoustic piano sample, and copied in the effects etc - and the volume is still lower than the prog version of the same sound , and yes I have checked that the volumes are all ...

Prog Volume versus Combi Volume - problem

Right here is the issue this week :- volume sounds in Combi mode compared to PROG mode. For example take the B001 Piano Prog sound - nice and loud when I play it - volume is set at the highest. Now go to Combi C127 (ie empty combi) , select the B001 prog sound as the first (and only) sound in your ...
