Backing up X50?

I am trying to back up the Korg X50 and eventually migrate the sounds to the Korg triton VSTi (is this 100% compatible?). The "save" button outputs a .Xall file, which supposedly contains all data from the X50. However, in the past I have loaded one of the backup files and instead of loading the ...

The reason for asking about the LCD backlight is that it receives its power directly from the 5V supply, not relying on a processor or other device pin from turning on. If 5V, give or take a few percent, is present on the power board output connector pin 2, but the LCD backlight doesn't come on ...

To fully investigate the main board would require specialist test equipment and detailed information not divulged by Korg. Does the LCD backlight come on? If so, with the power switch off, keep the <ENTER> and <0> keys pressed whilst turning on the power, and keep them pressed for a few seconds ...

The first thing to check would be the power supplies coming from the KLM-2679 board. On the multiway connector, there should be +11.5V, +5V and 3.3V on pins 1,2, and 3 respectively, relative to pins 4,5,6, which are ground. If these voltages are correct, then suspect the main board. . Al right, I ...

Korg X50 dead?

Today when I was playing my X50, it suddenly shut down and wouldn't power up again. The external power supply is fine, powers up other boards with similar power ratings. No heat or sounds of anything breaking were noticeable, the board just powered down. Before the power plug and the associated ...

Pretty much the reason why I am still using "obsolete" hardware. Plug it in and it just... works!

And reaper loaded with no headache plugins, of course.

Really feel the OP's pain. Frustration kills creativity.

love the song and am pretty sure I heard something very similar in the Kronos but I can not remember which one. I will take a look when I can fire it up again. Awesome! Thanks a lot. It's difficult to tell on my iPad but it almost sounds like it could be something like the Stradivarius Sync lead ...

Emulating E065: WS classic lead

I am very interested in trying to emulate this brilliant synth lead sound originally found in the Korg 01/w. Unfortunately the sound skipped right over the newer Korg generations which I own. I heard it's the lead sound used by Rhapsody of Fire (link below). The sound is not very complex sounding ...

I don't own a Kronos, but I bet that the inputs are fine especially for something a bit "lo-fi" like a guitar.

Of course, you can test how they fare yourself with a program like audiomark.
