If I'm honest, the drawbar engine in Korg's seems to have stopped development in the early 2000's. Their take on Vib/Chorus always sounded like a bad phase shifter on high speed vs. an honest effort at realism.

Re: My SSD sh!t the bed

...and get something with MLC technology for higher reliability. If this works, it would be fantastic. Followup? Other than dealing with a retaining pin for the CPU heat sink breaking--which I replaced all of them with quality, brass pins--performance has been solid with zero freezes and cut-off ...

Whenever I hear someone describe a balanced / TRS / XLR connection with tinny sound, I go immediately to a bad cable.

When one conductor of a balanced cable is broken, the result is always thin, tinny, quiet sound, so try new cables, balanced or un-balanced.

My SSD sh!t the bed

Well, after upgrading with an inexpensive Kingston 256GB SSD, I realized the technology on the SSD was low cost, high density, and generally poor wear life. So it's no surprise I've been having the dreaded cut-off note issue which, when it occurs, also locks up the touch screen. This issue has been ...

.
I'm ordering plastic and brass push-pins with springs. If the brass ones fit, then I think that will go far to solve long-term reliability.

Can you explain this a bit more? I am suddenly having some fan issues on my Kronos. It has an identical heat sink as shown in your photo, and I’ve noticed that one of the retaining pins, as you call them, is missing on mine as well. A photo I had taken of it a year ago shows the pin was previously t ...

Problem solved.

I recently saw a little insignificant piece of plastic in my case, turns out it was a retaining pin on the heat sink for the processor on the motherboard.

Popped in a nylon screw and nut I had on hand.

Really?

Korg… people…

REALLY???

Fan Cooling Warning

Anyone else encounter a Fan Cooling warning at the top of the screen? There's nothing about it in the manual, except the Parameter Guide briefly mentions a setting for Fan Control, and that the system will turn the fan on as necessary: https://hackshaft.com/Nautilus/Nautilus_Fan_Cooling_Warning.jpg ...

Why is the forum not https??

In an era where web pages pretty much everywhere have migrated to secure http protocol, is there a reason why this site is not yet using https? My browser and password manager software always complain the site is not secure, and I think the cost of a certificate is minimal to nil with certificate ...

Hey Drama, for what it's worth the 73-key has a lot of room to park an external controller for additional controls on the right or left side, and it supports anything class-compliant via USB.

So lots of inexpensive options to add more twiddly knobs, ribbons, etc.
