I've read some comments about fan noise being an annoyance. Is there an improvement in that regard in the updated Kronos? I saw in a Korg video in global mode "fan settings." Maybe something to do with the fan noise? When I noticed that the new Kronos has ventilation holes, I hoped that it meant ...

No worries Curvebender! I totally understand and in fact makes my point even more! KingKorg connected with you. :) Yes it sure did, in fact, we're getting married next week! BTW, I love your sig! I am a HUGE Beatles fan and everytime I read your sig I am reminded of that story!! Thanks for the ...

Someone else, Curvebender (cool name) stated that KingKorg has something that Radias lacks, namely fantastic sounds. Again I disagree. To me the Radias sounds fantastic. To be absolutely honest, I wrote that in a state of serious Kingkorg excitement! There's nothing wrong with the Radias, it can ...

Slug,

Yes, you make some valid points.

What I was trying to say was this: in my opinion, the KK sounds so good that it makes up for what it lacks in features.

But having said that, of course I wouldn't mind an update with extra envelopes, extra LFO:s, extra everything! ;-)

I realised a few days ago: When I sit in front of my Kronos, and move the cutoff knob while playing the AL-1, MS20 or Polysix, all that happens is that I hear the cutoff frequency being changed. You say: well obviously, that's what it's there for! Absolutely, you're right. But when I adjust the ...

The Radias is easily the best synth for experienced users as it has WAY more synthesis features, the King Korg is probably the better of the two for people that dont need or want access to programming originality, which is i think was Korgs intention aiming towards the "gigging professional" more ...

Yeah, I knew this. But as you say, not as convenient as could be!

Muting oscillators while editing?

I'm not sure if the Kingkorg is the type of instrument that will ever receive a system update with new features (apart from perhaps fixing small bugs), but if it does, I'd like to see the ability to temporarily mute the oscillators while editing sounds, so you could isolate the oscillator you're ...

Thank you very much Dan!

Nice and informative.

It would be just fantastic if you could do a few more tutorials about creating vintage sounds with the AL-1. (Yes I know, finding the time...)

Again, thanks!

No. SGX-1 and EP-1 engines use non-alterable samples. However, you can slightly modify these samples with engine settings. Briefly, you cannot create an acoustic piano on SGX-1 or electric piano on EP-1. Buğra Basically true, but note that the EP-1 isn't really sample-based. Dan, If you will, could ...

Thanks Quirobinez for taking the time to help out! :-) Yes, I will experiment some more with the different filters. On a side note: switching monitors made a huge difference! I played the KK through Genelec 8040, and the Kronos through Yamaha HS-80. So, I connected the Kronos to the Genelecs: like ...

Currently I like PolySix and MS20 more for traditional synth sounds. Perhaps try adding a tube preamp IFX? Or messing around with the custom filter settings. Yeah, the Polysix and MS20 come much closer, but you loose the depth of the AL-1 engine.. But you're right, I should experiment more with the ...

Is there a King Korg inside of the Kronos?..

I had the immense pleasure of playing the King Korg for a few weeks at my studio, and I fell in love with it's sound, quite frankly the best VA that I've ever played! Nothing short of amazing in my ears. Then I sat down in front of my Kronos, played the AL-1, and became very sad... Suddenly it ...
