I as prior owner of the Oasys, now wanting to get a Kronos, I've held off because a replacement often seems imminent.

Have you seen any signs or heard rumors of a Kronos replacement?

The Studiologic controller has waterfall keys; it's advertised as such on their main page ( http://www.studiologic.net/ ). It'll be a sad day when it's discontinued, unless an Oasys II is also announced at the same time. Yesterday my local guitar center was selling the Oasys 88 for $6500 - plus there was an additional 15% discount on all workstations bringing the price down to $5525! I sold my Oasys late last year ...

Here's one way to look at it. Korg has a finite number of AOpen motherboards. When that supply is exhausted they have two choices: discontinue the OASYS or release an updated model. In the later case, they could try to find a similar motherboard, which might be difficult and still require work ...
