I would agree with that. I would put my money on the Kronos being updated again for a new release. It depends on how much advance warning they were given about the unavailability of parts. According to most suppliers both the Kronos and Kronos X are now discontinued. This was Korgs reply when I asked them about it: "We currently have no stock but will confirm the position by mid November 2014". You might want to look at a module like this for midi to cv compatibility: http://www.doepfer.de/home_e.htm it is nice because it has the midi through so if you wanted to at one stage build a polyphonic modular system it could be done fairly easily.
