ah I see... just as I suspected, the problem comes from the fact that my "cable" doesn't even have a disk with drivers so I was using the windows' ones ): Guess I'll just bite the bullet and buy an expensive but reliable interface which comes with it's own drivers ^^ Thanks a lot again, guys! You ...

@xmlguy -- thanks a lot for the recommendation (and also for the helpful replies throughout the whole thread! :) ) @synthjoe -- I tried your method and here's what happened: 1- no data in both monitors (input and output) 2- still no data when i activated 'play notes from your computer keyboard' 3 ...

Ah, I see, thought so too. Guess I'll just have to deal with the preset programmes for tomorrow's concert and eventually buy a new interface. By the way, do you guys know any good and reliable USB-midi interfaces? .__. Preferably from online shops which offer international shipping... Thanks a lot ...

Just to clear this up - how long should I wait for the keyboard to stop processing the files?! Because I've waited for 12 hours or so and the same message was still appearing on the screen ("processing...") :( Thus I've always had to restart the keyboard at some point since it seems WAY too long for ...

The problem is that I don't want to restore the presets - I want to put a .sysex file because I need some of the sounds from it for my upcoming concert. I read everything from the manual and yet, even with the correct settings on the keyboard, I fail to send any .sysex files to it due to the above ...

Huh, if you were talking about the settings of the keyboard itself - then yes, I had those set correctly right from the beginning. I'll try sending a .sysex file again, let's see what happens tho I'm almost sure it'll give me the same error any other ideas why this might be happening? EDIT ...

Mm I have a bunch of .sysex files downloaded from the web - I don't quite remember where I got them since it was a few years ago but a guy I know gave me the links and he was using the sounds so I guess they should be working  and I also have the .sysex file from JayB's site "You do have write ...

Ookay... now that's odd I tried uploading a different .sysex file at around 9 PM last evening and left the PC and X5D on for the night. When I woke up in the morning the code in the midi ox monitor output window was exactly the same as the one from right before I went to bed at around 2.30 AM (the ...

Thanks a bunch!!! Those worked like a charm :D I managed to send the .sysex file to my X5D without any errors but! is it normal for the keyboard to take so long "processing" the file? It's been 30+ minutes since I sent it from midi ox... I know the model is very old and yet the file is only 35KB big ...
