Roland JV-80 - my first Synth! Rhodes Mark 1 - sold it way to cheap, stupid. Kurzweil PC88, loved it and gigged a lot with it. Korg Triton with 88 keys - HUGE so I swiched to: A small but still 88 key Oberheim master keyboard and Korg Triton Rack and later to Roland rack which I can't remember the ...

Sounds great, thanks for the reply Dan!

Also the fact that part of an expansion can be loaded is awesome, that means I will be absle to sneak in one big piano with parts of the Karo strings plus some other stuff aswell.

Still longing for a list of how much space in RAM each ESX use tho ;)

C) The Karo Philharmonic Strings library contains a lot of articulations. I don't know how realistic it would be to expect to use all them live, so why have them loaded. Generally, you'll want one good sustain and possibly another articulation. Articulations that I can see from the Philharmonic ...

I belive what MartinHines wrote is very likely, it's about quality control.

Let's hope they let Karo stream their stuff asap, or even better, update the OS to allow 4 GB RAM.

Yes, seems that you have to unload pretty much everything to squeeze 850 MB KSL in? If 200 MB (out of the total 1 GB of "user RAM") is used by each of the two big pianos, then you can't actually use KSL together with any of the two. I'm praying for streaming here, or alternative a memory expanding ...

The size taken in memory is due to the number of samples, length of each samples that needs to be loaded. A drumkit with several different samples for each notes, with different velocities, will surely not take the same amount of RAM than a very long note of a piano. However, it might be safe to ...

He basically just loves everything about it...

It's readable with google translate, allthough I had to sopy the sections rather than translating the whole page, it just kept going back to german when I did.

Ok, what about the Debussy piece I linked, it's faster than anything JR does in the vid, even if it doesn't need to be played at that speed? I consider it absolutely genious music, as well as some of Coltranes super fast improvisations but I have no problem in loving minimalism like Arvo Pärt or ...

Well we'll have to agree to disagree! Every notation nonsense (ie fast notes) can be understood progressively as there are only a few notes that can be used in a meaningful melodic or harmonic progression. My point was that the extra notes that are NOT meaningful to the progression in mind don't ...

Great he can play fast - but the human ear (IMHO) can only process so many notes and their meaning musically, so there is a point where (musically) it loses the plot. I don't agree with this, I belive that it is, as most other musical things, a matter of learning. After all, it isn't much different ...

Probably, but I do play real pianos that CAN keep up with my fast solos and I do know Billy Joel uses is able to still play his songs live that the RH3 can not. I don't really understand...is the RH3 keybed in itself not fast enough for the fast solos? I understand it's harder to play synth and ...

Also it says here: http://www.karo-sounds.com/ that they will have the libraries available for Kronos "soon" so I'm guessing it means they will do special versions for the Kronos aswell. Really looking forward to KSL!

People say all sorts of things, don't they? What we'd originally told people was April for first units in stores, with some regions a month later (May). Now it looks more like May, with some regions a month later (June). This is unrelated to the earthquake. Best regards, Dan Just qouting Dan from ...

I want to read this thread but I wish that your views on the Oasys wasn't in it, cause it really shouldn't be, so please take it to where it belongs, be that in PM, Oasys part of the forum, or the trashcan.
